Hobie,

If a thread has been moved there is a line of writing imediately above the first post on the padlocked original stating exactly where it has gone.

There's no need to post questions like this either - every single page has a 'contact us' caption. Before doing so though why not go to the top right hand corner of any PPRuNe page and click on the 'FAQ' hotlink. Spend a while reading it and I'll go and get on with the Christmas dinner.......

Best Wishes to all
Rob Lloyd

Dear Mr. Lloyd,
Probably no need for questions like this either, but why were all my little injections of Christmas cheer removed? I thought the odd little animated gif brightened up proceedings somewhat, and I was rather crestfallen to wake up and find Santa had removed from, rather than added to my tree. Would one day have occupied so much bandwidth?
Happy Christmas to you and your family.
Saffa.

towers - thanks for the quick answer and advice ..... guess that means that my posting on collision avoidance and the wild "Fly-By" were simply dumped which I think was a little sad given the season we are in ...... the response I did receive on them prior to destruction indicated to me that they raised a great deal of cheer when so many serious and nasty things are going on in this world of ours ......

Hobie,

If you look at your first request to the moderators you'll find it was answered with the exact location of the fly by post yesterday.

Dunno where the other one went but the note at the top of the R+N page makes it clear what this forum is for. Plenty of other places for you to post stuff where it won't get binned.

Staffa, Christmas cheer versus humbug - discuss.

Quite simply we've found that it hits us very hard in the pocket when the spirit of gif. giving abounds - whatever the time of year. Server speed goes down the tube as well.

We've put a huge effort into improving the speed of service we offer in recent days although we claimed we were down the pub

Yep, curmudgeonly to stop you as an individual but we we know from long experience it spreads like wildfire and the site turns to treacle as everyone else attempts to 'share' their favourite images.

Our apologies but it really is the way it has to be until the world goes broadband and we can afford a corporate league server which can match our already existing traffic.

Regards
Rob

to PPRuNe Towers ..... found the moderator message re fly-by ..... many thanks for the info ..... I really am sorry for not appreciating the "Big Picure".
When it comes to system resources, I remember years ago, on the start up of a company wide network, that I would go crazy on finding out guys using the system inappropriately ..... please read this apology then feel free to remove ....... cheers .... hobie

Hello again, Mr. Lloyd.

Hmmmmm, tempting, but I shall resist.

The money thing I understand all too well, and thank you for pointing it out. I shall try to keep a tight leash on my enthusiasm from now on.

You can perhaps take comfort in the fact that so few fellow adicts have the know-how to fiddle with your UBB code properly?

Blue skies to you.
