Maybe! Or do they only need one plane there to try and grab the cash?

There is still one there. OMNGP left with a delay. The other OMNGD on ground for more than 4 hours now. Ideas?

Wonder if poor pilot on providing his credit card was stung by "additional charges" per pax carried by the nervous Manch airport authority.........

Spunky Monkey,

Ease up. I've been there, done it, experienced it all. I know exactly what its like. When it happened to me (more than once) I found I got myself sorted faster with a light heart and a sense of humour. The guys from XL wont be wasting time reading carp here, they will be getting on with it, they are made of much stronger stuff than you imagine.

Are we about to see the return of airline captains travelling about with cases full of cold hard cash for those airports hesitant to accept 'credit'. It has been seen before.

Interesting times. My thoughts are with those from Zoom, XL, and any other airline with less than robust accounting...

Is there anything official about this?

People are now talking like these two carriers have definitely gone out of business, yet I can't find anything official to state this and both companies websites are running as usual with no mention. Has there been any official confirmation or is this people just jumping the gun?

Thumbs down Typical

Copi-paste from Ryan air website :

Commenting on the collapse of yet another bankrupt airline, Michael Cawley, Ryanair's Deputy Chief Executive, said:
"This is proof positive that passengers should not book their holidays with flaky, financially stretched airlines such as XL. Passengers should only book reservations with financially strong airlines such as Ryanair whom they know will be here for the long term. We are pleased to be able to rescue these passengers and facilitate the CAA in their efforts to repatriate them. We strongly advise passengers to be more discerning when they book their holidays and look first at the financial position of the airline with which they book".

What nice way to make a fool out of himself. The corpse is not even cold yet and you start your usual ryan air bla bla bolx

So lets us all hear. How strong is the ryan air flaky economy?
Why are they putting planes on the ground and shutting down routes. Did O'leary remember to hatch the fuel this year. Where is your profit this year? Why has some 55 captains left the company every month the last half year. Why is the hiring gone dramaticly down?
Can you be sure that you actually fly if you book ryan air in 6 months?
Why did ryanair borrow pilots form a flyky airline over the winther in 2004-2005?

My deepest feelings for the guys who lost their jobs with XL.com

It was a nice a propper airline to work for and they treated their employees like human beeings.

Things looked normal for Sky Europe at Luton tonight. I saw OMNGK arrive from Bts and park in the usual place, and later saw OMNGA depart for Prg.

Impounding aircraft is usually done on the instruction of Eurocontrol (via our CAA). If they say 'stop the aircraft' then that's what we have to do ..... no choice.

Maybe you need to direct your comments to the Eurocrats in BRU.
