Exclamation Hijackers seize Colombian plane

From the BBC:

"Hijackers have seized a commercial airliner in Colombia and forced it to land in a rural area, according to the civil aviation authorities. . .Two or three of the passengers were then taken away by the hijackers.

Officials said the remaining passengers and crew of the domestic Aires airline flight were to be safe and well.

The operations chief of the Colombian Air Force, General Gonzalo Morales, said the attackers were members of the country's largest rebel group, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

But a spokesman for the group said he did not know whether his group was responsible for the hijacking.

The domestic flight was headed from the southern provincial town of Neiva to the capital Bogota - it was forced to land soon after take off."
