Press Association report that US735 aborted takeoff because of "an unusual tyre pressure reading" - quoting an airport spokesman. It's due to depart "later this afternoon".

I arrived back to Manchester just after the incident, we actually had to hold so the firecrew could reach the aircraft concerned.
Don't know the cause of the reject, but the airbus was parked on taxiway D, with at least one punctured tire, from which there came a lot of smoke. The engine was still running as we passed.
The airport was closed for about 20 min or so, due to no available fire service.

Incident started as an RTO on 23L. A/c back-tracked, crossed 23R and then 'something went bang' abeam the Fire Station. Poss brake unit failure?
Awaiting AAIB team to arrive so no repairs possible. A/c remains on taxiway Alpha ufn. Also heard unable to get the cans off as HiLo would need to manoeuvre onto the grass to get access to the holds. No bags for the pax then!
...... and then FCA (767) dropped in with no nose wheel steering. Had to be towed in from the far end 23L to T2, however, the tug had never been on such a long journey and broke down along the way. Pilot was heard to say it took longer to tow in, than the flight was from PMI!
Busy day for the MAN Fire Service guys.

started a 6am,supposed to be finished at 11, only just got home.
your right the A330 remains on alpha, i went with the ground crew ad we couldnt get the hilo onto the A330. i thik the engineers were chanfing the tyres when i left.
the 767 has been towed to stand 240 something, engineers focusing on the right landing gear and wing area.
and then we had a fuel leak from one on of the new excel 739 just before the 767 incident, the fire crew just arrived the put sand over the fuel, then got called away to the first choice....
its been an experience to say the least

Last I heard a brake unit was siezed on the axle and they couldn't shift it.
