757 EWR Approach

I was driving south on the NJ Turnpike when I saw Continental 757 attempting to land at EWR on 22L at 4:28 pm on Mar 29. Strong Xwind coming from the East.

Well I was watching the approach since i was a passanger in the car and the plane was in a half crab than changed to slip. Plane was about 20 feet above the runway and and drove the port wing down hard looked like it skimmed the runway, really couldn't tell.. than the plane bounced down hard and came off about 50 feet and back down with a near tail scrape.. looked like at least 2g's on the bounce (I am no expert) and bounced down again nearly scraping the port wing and engine again and than aborted takeoff, by this time he was off the runway.. plane taking off on 22R was very very close and probably in the wake turbulance. Jet headed out over the gothals and I lost site of it..

I am sure the SLF had upset stomachs after that rollar coaster. I am only SLF with private pilots license so please excuse any technically wrong statements.
