D8-400 Emer L/D in VIE

Seems that another D8-400 just a few minutes ago made an emergency landing in VIE. Just got the mail by a colleage from down there. Message is posted in the local media. A/C came vom NUE and had problems with the gear. Pax (87pax) got off via the sildes? (dont know but on a D8 slides?what for?) according to the media. A/C belongs to Tyrolean Airways scedule flight.
Greetings

According to this article http://diepresse.com/home/panorama/o...65306/index.do

Dash 8 doesn't have slides. Also it wasn't an emergency. Gear was extended but had a false indication.

An Austrian Airlines Dash8-400, registration OE-LGE performing flight OS142 from Nuremberg to Vienna with 67 passengers and 4 crew, performed a full emergency landing into Vienna, after the crew received an unsafe gear indication on the primary display, though the alternate indication showed a safe gear. The crew elected to go-around and entered a hold for about an hour, talking to maintenance, and finally receiving a safe gear indication on all displays.

In the meantime two rescue helicopters, 16 ambulances and 5 emergency doctors were dispatched to the airport. Fire engines of the airport took positions, and all fire stations around the airport were alerted and put into standby.

Despite the safe gear indication the crew prepared passengers for a crash landing.

The landing in the end was safe.

The Dash has no slides but it is still one arse breaker of a drop to the deck.
