apparently landed overweight with the according overweight ldg check list performed. the tables gave 2500 m landing distance at their weight and config. mxp has two very long runways (think it's 4000m).

what's best? a little overweight landing and some brake overheat or 30 minutes worth of flying with one engine shut down.

Hardly a LARGE fan engine is it! Probably one of the most reliable engines around but not generally used on ETOPS ac like the 777 A330 767 etc
Ok, so its not large, but it is on ETOPS a/c...(PrivatAir BBJ's spring to mind). My main point was more to do with the fact you dont have to have an engine design concept from yesterday for it to be reliable...
