Thumbs down DUB Ramp security ( or lack of)

Given the paranoia about Ramp security, there's several things that might interest people flying or working in or near Dublin.

13 People breached airside security recently and got as far as the outbound baggage hall before being challenged. Fortunately, they had no malicious intention, but the fact they got as far as they did is not good!

A significant quantity of freight was moved to the ramp some hours before it's outbound flight, and then left unattended and unsupervised for several hours. Fortunately ICTS security became aware of this lapse, and correctly refused to allow it to be loaded onto it's intended trans atlantic flight until the pallets have been broken down and the contents re x-rayed.

A significant number of people have been issued airside access passes at very short notice in order to allow them to break an industrial dispute. The normal security checks could not have been carried out as there was insufficient time to make these checks.
