Question Son of Air Ops

In todays Travel Trade Gazette the make a one line quote "Son of Air Ops has appeared at Manchester" and another quote of "entering the ad hoc charter market with leases at £300k a month might not be too good an idea."

Who are the talking about?

Talking

Having re-read the column I reckon the "entering the ad-hoc market" would be directed at Prime and the "Son of Air Ops" would be Tr***jet

According to a well informed source it is Thomas Johansson's new baby, ********, that will operate an MD80 (ex Air Littoral) for Gold Crest.

Cool

It is indeed TJ`s new thang! But not for Goldcrest - as there is no such thing anymore! Think it is controlled by Millenium Aviation.

The Transjet MD80 is being controlled by Meridian Aviation (which is Andre Cachia and Graham Rolfe), and yes, Thomas Johansson is running the airline. Money must be on Phil Wyatt being involved in it somewhere.

Millennium Aviation was the forerunner of Excel Aviation, me thinks.

On the subject of TTG, does anyone know who the dig above the mention of Son of Air Ops was aimed at - "Entering the ad-hoc charter market with leases at £300k a month might not be too good an idea." Any ideas what that's all about?

Sounds more like dog-food than an airline to me! And how you can call an ex-TLA A300 Prime I just do not know! Perhaps they didnt finish the paint job!!

GUV - the 300K was about the A300 not the MD80 methinks!
