Angry Security gone mad

Here in London, Ontario one of our local refuelers/snow removal drivers has been suspended without pay for 2 weeks, fined $250 Canadian and forced to resit all his airport job specific examinations.
What for?
Not wearing his airport ID card. He had gone out to remove some snow and left it on his jacket in the office. The security guard who made the 'bust' knew him well and they actually stopped to chat and shoot the s**t. The next thing the refueler finds is a letter from the security company with the above conditions. It seems someone decided to make an example of him.
If this is the way its going in the wake of S11 then god help us all because a company uniform and pilots licence are not going to stop you from being arrested. All this pedantic draconian bulls**t is being directed in completely the wrong direction. As usual all the regular joes are suffering while those who want to cause harm are sitting back and working new ways around these problems.

Cyclic:

I guess you are implying he would sweat?
Why would he be hand shovelling snow on an Airport ramp? Most likely he was operating a mechanical snow removal vehicle.

Steve 76:

The only way to stop such idiotic penalties as handed out to that individual is for all the airport workers to just sit down and close the airport until someone with some common sense reverses such a dumb decision.

The more you bend over the further they will shove it up. So stand up to them.

Angry

In the meantime, how about making a very big deal about running a collection, to include security staff(!), to help make up for the fine and lost wages, let the idiots know that this kind of draconian, lunatic behaviour simply isn't going to win.

just like gun control, drug laws and the like, only the honest citizen is affected. Criminals are what they are because they laugh at laws.
If you asked the drug runners and burglars and terrorists, they would support the laws fully, since all the laws do is make their work easier.
And of course the laws make work for the government agents who enforce them, thus making governments bigger and government employees rich!
So we lose out because of the way the governments make our lives worse, and because the money for all this comes out of our pockets.
The real criminals wear suits.
