This was on Reuters last night.

RABAT, Feb 7 (Reuters) - A small Ukrainian cargo plane has crashed in southern Morocco killing all eight people on board, a government official said on Thursday.. . The plane, a turbo-prop Antonov-12 carrying fish from Senegal's capital Dakar to Algiers, crashed into a mountain on Wednesday night minutes after taking off from the Atlantic port city of Agadir.. . There was no indication of the cause of the accident.. . Rescue teams who reached the site of the crash on Thursday found debris and body parts scattered around a large area as well as eight Ukrainian passports, the official said.

Crashed near Taroudant, Atlas Mountains at 9,900feet. Regretably 8 fatalities. Some confusion about route. Aviation Safety Network has it routing Agadir-Algiers. Local Press - (Maghreb Arabe Press) has it routing Algiers to Dakar, making a stopover in Agadir, due to technical problems.

1. Why Volare ?

2. An Antonov 12 is NOT a small aircraft

Recceguy,

1. Because this was the detail in the Aviation Safety Network report.

2. Depends on what you call big. Comnpared to the IL-76 it is a small(er) aircraft. Looks about the size of a C130-J.
