Post BA Job Losses

OK we've all seen the press speculation but just how many BA staff have lost their jobs after the "announced" job losses?

I'd hazard a guess......not as many as the public thinks!

Well at LGW I do not know of one person especially management that have lost their job. I know of many non management who have accepted unpaid leave and are due back on the pay role soon and several who have converted to job share/part time. I am aware tho of several lifts and doors at Jubilee that have been made redundant and several heaters have been made part time.

You did have 2 Chief Pilots at LGW - now you have one. How's that for starters?

Yeah but don't we have an extra six assistant chief pilots at LGW, with the former chief pilot promoted to head of shiney widgets at Waterworld?

500 Managers are to lose their current positions and be retrained as pilots, but on a new contract earning about half of the current pilots' wages. Anyone who fails the courses will be offered Flight Attendants positions.

Wink

As cabin crew I would love it if these managers had a go at doing anything that actually put them on the front line!!!!! Lets face it they would last about 2 minutes before they would have to have their latte and then hunt down their lap tops!!!!. . As for putting them in the flight deck.....Don't be silly, they would just start to argue which seat was theirs and realise that 2/4 seats is simply not enough and probably demand a conference table to be installed!!!!
