Intercept over northern France? - 19.08.06

In vicinity of Cherbourg Peninsula 1000z 19.08.06 today overheard the following on guard frequency 121.5 MHz "Air Algeria French Fighter on right side". Anyone with further information?

And five minutes earlier on the ATC freq: "Air Algerie, do you accept an intercept for training?"
