Track up or Heading up
Good stuff in there.
About the wind, the CB moves relative to track but not to heading. If you regard the echo relative to heading or you have a separate Radar display, the wind is taken care of, as the aircraft and the cloud are in the same bit of wind.
If you are track up or are watching the echo relative to a track line, then the CB will move relative to the track.

Good job ! Those school kids now have a great story to tell.

Well, from my viewpiont, an approval of autoland in not at all a factor in an emergency. The only question would be, is it possible. If there is an ILS (not an African one) I would rather land blind automatically than manually.
None of you guys saw that Boeing video, where they masked a #1 window, opened the sidewindow and the PF was steering the aicraft down to the runway while he was hanging outside wearing his smoke goggles?
A classic, which actually shows it an be done.
Don't know if its an advisable thing to do in hail, though.
