British Airways is apparently trying out a medical service where there's a dedicated medical center on the ground which can be called through a dedicated satellite phone, with doctors standing by, specifically trained to instruct cabin crew on how to perform certain medical actions.
Interesting!

In BA we subscribe to Medilink a US centre specialising in airborne medical problems. we contact them by satphone or HF telephone patch. They advise crew but are also extremely good at advising any medical professional on board. They have much information and experience to call on. They are also aware of the contents of our medical kits and level of crew training. They are an excellent organisation and have proved invaluable on many occasions.
