Thumbs down BBC Eastern Airways program

BBC Yorkshire's Inside Out shown this evening has featured Eastern Airways and "problems the airline encounter". What is going on??? First C4 and Ryanair and now Eastern. WHO'S NEXT FOR THE SLAUGHTER????

Having watched the program I see these are rare cases and the TV compaines have nothing else to entertain the public but diss airlines !!!

I just watched that too, seemed a bit weird to me,a few minor incidents blown out of proportion, especially when David learmount stuck his oar in.!
Capt Wood -operations director put his case across well and pointed out they have an excellent saftey record and the incidents caused by pilot error led to further training for crews rather than being swept under the rug.
Typical bbc scaremongering, shame really because the inside out program is usually pretty good, judging by the number of times he said nobody was ever hurt etc says to me that they were short of stories this week.

Long time in coming really. They have had more than their fair share of issues. Particullarly wrt crew relations and pilot T's+C's.

Keep your eye out for a scandalous one about Cabin Crew - I had a call from a TV boss wanting gossip and dirty stories. Suffice to say on reflection I won't be providing any!

Not that it means they don't happen

So are you saying that journalists treat airlines differently to everyone else, who gets treated with fair editorial judgement? Oh and we tell complete lies about you too. And you call us muppets.

I agree Baseturn, maybe fokker and our visiting journalist friend(s) would like some impartial, balanced information found below. As a non journalist/non airline pilot, even for me it's not hard to drag up gossip on most companies:

Journalists create their take on stories to further their own careers and nothing else, any chance of a scoop eh?
When it comes to matters of transport not just flying, you lot may think you are doing the public a great favour by bringing these things up but in reality it puts people off flying etc and causes undue extra worry for nervous types.
