I have no "problem" for you to see jettesen. Personally, I would prefer that this practise did not take place were it to be me involved. I was simply curious as to whether others feel the same unease. It is the fact that the images are posted on a corporate site that troubled me most.

It is clear from the subsequent postings that the practise is considered quite normal and has cultural validity, something that I did not appreciate and another example of how you can sometimes learn stuff from PPRuNe.

Thank you to those who took the trouble to respond so politely: I'm aware that I have introduced creep to this thread, so please may we consider my question answered and return to the issues around the unfortunate crash.

Perhaps TightSlot, posting the pictures of the deceased makes it more personal for us, even more so knowing we are in the same profession. I wouldn't feel so uncomfortable for example if the pictures were those of victims in an area unrelated to Aviation.
