SantaBarbara DC 10 turns back

Saw in the news this pm: Santa Barbara DC 10 return to MAD affer suffering technical problems, 400 pax very angry and scared, delayed over 30 hrs to get to Caracas. The company just had an aircraft grounded after maintenance problems in Madrid, and there are rumors of serious infractions.......

400 pax on a DC10??? Geezzus Christmas. Talk about high density seating. THE SLF on that flight must have been beside themselves.
Is it the same aircraft that is alleged to have had the problems?

Strangly enough, SFD, you can get 400 full sized adults on an L10 as well, so long as you have the large rear doors.

If they ain't friendly at the start of the flight, they sure will be at the end....sardines, only thing missing is the oil.

DC10's are certified for max PAX capacity of 380 with underfloor galleys.

Apparently 320 on the flight that returned to Barajas and 90 due to leave the following day, according to Spanish TV news reports
