JAL 747 loses cabin pressure

"A Japan Airlines jumbo jet from New York bound for Narita International Airport made an emergency landing Sunday at Shin Chitose Airport in Hokkaido after oxygen masks in the passenger cabin were released due to reduced air pressure, JAL officials said."

Strange for the rubber jungle to appear during the cruise. These things (if it was a defect) usually become apparent during climb.
