Lot of the same arguments about feasibility of design when B747 was first getting on the drawing boards, With the exception that fuel was relatively cheap during those days.
The Sonic Cruiser concept has been flying in fighters for a while. Hight thrust engines and rear mounted wings with LEX ( Leading Edge Extension ).
I hope that it flies as industry is ready for something totally new, I am that is.
