Given all the arguements about the rights and wrongs about landing back after V1 that raged here on Pprune in the weeks after the accident I thing that one of the AAIB's conclusions is rather fitting, namely:-

"The Commander's decision to land the aircraft immediately on the runway remaining was sensible in the circumstances."

This was one of the finest bits of flying i have seen in 20 years in aviation its good to see some offical recognition of this.
