Air Senegal International Dash 8 crash

The airline's dash 8-300 went off the runway landing at Tambacounda at around midnight saturday. The plane is apparently a write-off but there were no injuries...

So did it Crash Land or did it do a relatively normal African Landing and simply run off the end/side of the runway due to Brakes and/or Steering failure?

Ok. What exactly do you mean by "a relatively normal African Landing?"

Canileb,

I think what FM is trying to say is that people in Africa are prone to hard landings... I'm sure he's just kidding (if he likes his knee caps) :-)

What is that? Are they different from "other" normal landings?
I don't think he is kidding.

Thank you very much gentlemen in another fine lesson of how to insult other people. Did NOT enjoy that at all!

So does anyone like to maybe put in a few words about what happened with the plane. Did they overrun the runway. Was there a problem with the plane, and what were the conditions under which it crashed? Short or normal runway?

If you say it is a write off it must have been a bad one!

Thanks for the info

ATI has a fairly detailed piece about it but I can't post it here.

Better a hard landing than a crash with funerals...

A 'Good landing' is when you can walk away from the aircraft, and a 'very good one' is when you can use it again!
