As it is a Forum dedicated to rumours, I am surprised not to find this one (If it has been already posted, sorry for that ...). .. .There is a pretty odd rumour growing up in France, that NO AIRPLANE actually crashed on the Pentagon the 11th of September !!!. .. .A french journo, member of "Reseau Voltaire" an information (?) network specialised in investigation journalism;just released a book, asserting that the Boeing crash on the Pentagon is a mystification,set up by US military .. .This journalist, Thierry Meyssan gives no explanation for the reason and purpose of such a bloody fake crash. He just compares this with the murder of Kennedy and other so-called Black Ops .... .Talking about the crash site, Mr Meyssan gives no technical details or clues about it. The fact is that this man has not even been on the crash scene, neither is he competent to talk about aeronautics .... His limited skills on this matters barely allow him to prove his theory with pertinent comment like : "that's not a big enough hole, for a boeing crash site ..." "we can't see the plane arriving on the pentagon on security cams" or "most of the witnesses are government controlled " ( At the Pentagon ? Am surprised). .. .Anyway, suffice to say that I feel disgusted by this way of making money (the book is a best seller here ...) And feel ashamed that this crap is emerging from France.. .. .Apart from drifting towards a French bashing, I would like to have your comments and to know about the echo this rumour has in your area.

No echo, because nobody with a decent mind would waste more than 20 seconds of his time considering this debate. .. .So as typing this costed me more than 20 seconds, I am already out and leaving the area. .. .(Similar rumors are currently getting a strong support in the Muslim world)

I have no doubt about the Boeing Crash on the Pentagon guys.. .What I am trying to point out is the scale of this rumour in Europe ...(not only in muslim word). .The Journo, author of this book has sold 80.000 Books the last week ! (huge figure for France). .This man is virtually on each TV show since 2 weeks ! Speaks on the radio ! . .Hopefully, each of his intervention is dampened by aviation professionnals and serious journalist (US in some case). .What I mean, chaps, is this rumour is on a massive scale here, far beyond the "jet blast" forum.. .Sorry for your 20 sec's Recceguy, but If you were here,experiencing this rumour "live", you would probably spend a bit more to react <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Just to add spice to the rumour, did anyone actually see any wreckage at the site? I watched all the news coverage and didn't see a thing that resembled aircraft parts....strange.. .Mind you it would have disintegrated into fairly small bits I suppose but you usually see things like undercarriage legs or engine cores and the like.

The heavier parts would have been found inside the offices - even with such a disaster the military authorities are not about to let photographers loose, and any internally produced images would be delayed by security screening, hence the long delay before the security camera images were released. If the only attack that day had been on the pentagon, no doubt more pictures would have been released, but with the WTC devastation the Pentagon took a back seat. The fact that certain portions of the a/c survived hitting a bomb-proof concrete wall can be seen that a few pentagon staff members/contractors were listed as casualties twice- they had been passengers on the a/c so not only were they on the passenger list, but their ID's were recovered from the site, wrongly leading to the assumption that they were at work.
