bmi contracts?
Following bmi's mass redundancy programme at the end of January, I've heard rumours that they are now trying to get some of these pilots to come back to cover their summer schedules on temporary contracts. One would presume that bmi will then dispose of them again for next winter.. .. .Any thoughts on this? Is this ethical?

Funny how when STN base were given their notice Stuart was off. When BHX & MAN are given their notices, guess what, Stuart was off!. .He calls himself a manager but for a big bloke he is a little ####er.. .As for that 'crew council chairman'. I wrote to him in December, then E-mailed him and then left a letter in his pigeon hole, no reply yet. I suppose Bill hasn't told him what to say yet.. .All you 145 Guys should learn from our pain!

Virgin on the dishonest, and more appropriately named bmiba...rds.. .. .Compulsory redundancy, unemployment, then offers of 6-month fixed-term contracts to the unfortunates now fast running out of money..how can anyone plan a life on this basis? bmiBritish Midland need to learn that the contract pilot market does not work like this, and I hope bmi learn this to their cost....industrial action is not far away, it is rumoured. . .. .
The beloved leaders of Midland always feature in 'The Sunday Times' richest people in the UK annual survey, but funnily enough the company doesn't feature in today's list of the top 100 best UK companies to work for. What happened to that employee satisfaction survey of a few years ago? The results don't seem to have been published by the company.

It has been recently rumoured in this context that :. .. .Allegedly with the redundancies, and their dealings with crew, a certain regional element have demonstrated once too often the two track system that they have applied to matters that are available for scrutiny.. .. .Flight deck, cabin training standards, safety, and integrity in dealing with their workforce are allegedly issues.. .. .They can and will allegedly for the time being get away with it until their chain is pulled firmly by their masters as those boundaries are compromised.. .. .The cannon fodder that pass as middle managers will allegedly be dumped when they have become a liability for carrying the company line too far.. .. .A type rating may prove a liability yet.. . . . [ 24 March 2002, 20:20: Message edited by: Hostie from Hell ]
