Proposed EU 5 day week legislation

I recall seeing some mention that the EU was proposing to introduce legislation limiting the number of days EU members can work consecutively.
Have I got it completely wrong or is there someone who can cast more light on this?
There are certain implications within our industry.

Thanks

Generally the aviation industry seems to get exemptions from EU regulations!!!!

At BA we're beginning to wake up to the fact that the company only respect EU working time regulations if they apply to the cabin crew (specifically I am refering to extension of duty times and the use of Captain's discretion). Us pilots get no pat on the back and no free tickets!!!
