Post US GAO Report on Aviation Competition

Interesting report from the US General Accounting Office (GAO) on Aviation Competition in the USA.

If you want to look at a copy it is at http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d01831.pdf

You'll need Mr Adobe's Acrobat Reader thingy to look at it.

It helps you to understand or be confused airline pricing policies. Check out the diagram on page 55 on inventory management.
It seems one passenger can be paying up to 8 times the fare for the same seat as the guy next to him and we are not talking about industry discounted tickets.

Looks like a poker game for those in Revenue Management.
