Air Europa incident at MUC
An Air Europa 737-800 with 182 people (176 pax) on board skidded from the wet runway in MUC yesterday.
Noone hurt, runway blocked for hours, some flights cancelled, more than 50 delayed (up to two and a half hours).

Not to move off the point the photo shows a set of fire service owned steps at L1. Ive seen these before at other german airports. The Fire service have their own pax steps on an all terrain vehicle really good for situations like this where a full slide evacutation is not needed but you still want the pax off in a muddy field. something we should look at in the UK.

I see from the sequence the plane was pulled out without much obvious damage. What checks have to be carried out before it can be flown again? Must be hard for small companies when this sort of thing happens.

It happend to me once(as the ground engineer in charge)when there is no obvious damge then not much to be done,apart from a detailed inspection and as for me I called for an NDT inspection of all gears,it"s also a good idea to check for any damage or debris in the engines.
