Green Flare Over EMA
I saw the same 'green flare' at EMA. I was driving past the airport keeping DHL to my left and the same green type flare appeared over Diseworth. The light was falling quite quickly at a sharp angle, but was very bright indeed. I could not estimate how far away, but fairly close.
Thought first of all it was a firework but I know from experience this was more like a flare than anything else.
I dismissed the event until reading the other sightings on PPRUNE.
Seems like as good a time as any to start a conspiracy theory.

Just a numbered other
Quite odd.
Just checked, my duty finished at 2125 and I was driving home from EMA, normally about 35 minutes, and saw a green flare-type object descending to my south as I passed Kilworth House Hotel in Leicestershire. Thought they must be using fireworks.
Farty.....................are you better yet?

Looks like a possible candidate for space debris is the remains of a Proton rocket used to launch three Glonass nav sats. The decay was predicted near midnight Z on 21 May.

I saw that light too when flying northbound south of Paris!
The most brilliant "shooting star I ever saw!
I'm happy to know it could be a space debris.
If you have a laptop and fly regurally at night, I could recommend you a software called "Redshift 4".(I think there is an update 5 now)
That soft allows you to choose your position to look to the sky (even your altitude!) . Quite funny to name those stars you see every night and get a lot of infos about them. Our a/c are so reliable these days.........
