Anyone hear about an EIN aircraft clipping a BAW 747 on the ramp at LHR?

Would that be the same incident involving a stationary EI A321 holding for 27L and a BA 747 under tow along the northern dual?

spot on miles hi...it was the aer lingus airbus holding that collided with with under tow BA 747. What a play with words to insult the EI guys!

Yes, seems like the poor A321 was holding at ETIV and got its rudder sliced by a -400 winglet under tow down rwy 23.

Would that need a whole new composite tail even if it was just the rudder which got hit? What with Airbus and their composite tail issues at the moment I think this could be quite expensive.

So it's really true what they say in the ATIS all the time about wingtipclearance not being assured in the holding areas.

I guess it really depends where in the whole holding bay the aircraft has stopped!

It was definately a case of the 747 hitting the Aer Lingus airbus. Saw the pictures of the damage today. Expensive bill for BA I reckon!!!!

It was EI-CPE which is back flying already so doubt der was much damage done.

321 Currently in a BA Hangar at Heathrow awaiting a new rudder - apparently on it's way from Singapore.
Saw the rudder - nice winglet shaped slash straight through it, looks like it'll be heading for the bin!
Good job it wasn't a little further forwards....
