Angel Royanl Nepal's B-757 : Again !

Following the emergency landing of Royal Nepal’s B-757 with IRS failure, the 2 B-757’s of Royal Nepal Airlines have been facing a lot of problems due to poor maintenance practice, corruption & commissions.

Just this morning, one of its B-757 made yet another Emergency landing at Katmandu Airport after experiencing in-flight severe hydraulics leakage. The flight Originated from Katmandu Airport bound for Kualalampur. After 3 hours in the flight the Aircraft experienced severe in-flight hydraulics leakage. The crew consisting of F/O operations Director
(who ordered the crew involved in previous emergency Landing following IRS failure grounded because of his dislike towards the crew, pls. Read my previous post titled “Royal Nepal B-757 dated: 11th Oct. 2003, btw the crew involved in the previous emergency landing are still grounded)
decided to fly the B-757 all the way back to Katmandu and made an emergency Landing at KTM Airport.

Due to the poor maintenance of its aircraft, the 2 B-757 owned by Royal Nepal have been experiencing technical problems almost in every flight. Right now, one of its B-757 is grounded at Shangai airport due to some other technical problem since last two days, and the second one is grounded at KTM airport following today’s incident. The condition with these two aircraft are so bad that one of the aircraft has a load restriction of 4 tons because of engine problems and second B-757 has been flown with slat problems which the engineers have not been able to correct for a long time, thus they have been taking off and landing the aircraft at higher then normal airspeed ( ave. 160 kts ). Is this kind of practice allowed in normal passenger flight ?

After finding out about the poor maintenance, I’ll think twice before traveling with them. That’s my personal opinion.

Looks like this is the end of the flag carrier of Nepal !

RNAC stands for `Really Not All Together Certain.
1.
Who is going to ground the F/O Ops Director? Is he aware of nearest suitable airports around, how about CCU ?

2:
What is DGCA or civil aviation authority whatever you call them are waiting for.

Angel re:

1. Can't understand why the crew consisting of F/O Operations Director of RNAC decided not to land at the nearest Airport Yangoon, Dacca and Kolkata why bring the Aircraft all the way back from over Yangoon? Was that not an emrgency ? If it was not an emergency then why not proceed to Kualalampur and try to get it fixed there?

If the severe hydraulic leakage from Left elevator is indeed an emrgency in B-757 then whey not land at the nearest suitable airport ? As I do not fly one myself I would like to hear expert's view on this !?!

2. Incidently, the present Civil Aviation minister's wife and the present F/O OD's wives are sisters thats how he bacame RNAC's Operations Director despite his shaddy past records. There is no doubt no actioin will be taken againt him.

In Todays morning dailys, the MD of RNAC has given the following statement "The aircraft had hydraulic leakage problem in the elevator which affects the entire system. Though it is not a major problem, the pilots decided to fly back (all the way from Yangoon!?!) since it is not safe to fly even with a minor one" . The aircraft is still grounded which answers almost everything.

Minor Problem eh!?!

These are some of the deep rooted causes nepalese culture has inherited and the end result is where nepal is now along with airlines. few solutions, eg:

1: let only qualified professionals do their job.
2: Let no politicians interfare profesional decisions.
3: Stop nepotism, stop fevouritism and stop all the unnecessary isms.

4:Have no high expectation from so called democracy.

5:Stop donations and bribery.

Most important of all: punish all corrupt polititians, they are responsible for all this mess nepalese are facing.
enough said, mean time we as professional pilots should maintain highest standard of professionalisum regardless of external interference.
