Blue on Blue

Today Marseilles control was heard callng in vain for 20 mins for a roughly northbound ASCOT (RAF) callsign on their working freq and ( & I'm pretty sure on guard too).

Silly billy finally pops up protesting his innocence as he'd been "on the correct frequency all the time" (well of course!)...plus a whole list of other ones he'd tried. "Non M'sieu, we 'ave to send a Mirage to intercept you for visual identification" - "but - but - but..." Oh dear, the Mirage could not be denied it's pleasure by such lame excuses.

I bet the Mirage drivers will dine out on this one for years!

Point is, why on earth wasn't silly billy listening to 121.5? I'd never have expected this from the RAF.

On what? - some Albert driver eating his curry on the wrong frequency? That'll be one to tell the lads, that will.

And I suppose you do everything to the letter (I'm guessing you don't turn Guard off for a while to get weather or to avoid listening to some prat chatting to his mate on the emerg freq)

Yawn
