Helicopter Operator

Heard a buzz that one company down south might be in trouble, anyone heard that or is it just the jungle drums gettin it wrong again!

The Nr Fairy 12th November 2010 13:50

There's lots of companies down south. You'll have to be a bit more precise.

g-mady 12th November 2010 13:59

There is a lot of companies down south in trouble, it is a jungle out there, you'll have to be a bit more precise

Tru North 12th November 2010 15:49

Another vague news alert.....

Whirlygig 12th November 2010 16:25

Depends on your definition of "South" - You'll have to be a bit more precise.

misterbonkers 12th November 2010 17:13

True, Grid or Magnetic South?

Are we talking temperate latitudes?

How about a game of Hangman to determine the company name?

I'll start by asking if it's got an 'H' in it...

Whirlygig 12th November 2010 17:52

Um ... draw a line from The Wash to The Severn and anything above that line is North ergo, anything below that line (including Suffolk) is South.

So, if a Suffolk writer states "Down South", then I shall infer that the location of said operator is South of Suffolk - any help?

Cheers

hueyracer 12th November 2010 18:03

There still is a company in the North running very well.....(i hear)...

vfr440 12th November 2010 18:23

Does Surrey count as South? (In which case I have a definite interest:rolleyes:)

vfr440 12th November 2010 18:28

Then again, maybe I'm being too specific? Well, I try ........... and usually singularly fail!

drums got it right, but the skin was too tight on the left one, so it sounded wrong

TRC 12th November 2010 21:07

I'm in the South West.

Should I be 'worried' or just 'mildly concerned'?

We should be told.

ShyTorque 12th November 2010 22:19

We're talking southern hemisphere, right?

TRC 12th November 2010 22:51

We're talking southern hemisphere, right?
I hope so, cos I'm in the Southwestern Hemisphere, so I'll be un-affected.

Following on from EoR’s (You donkey - Sorry Earl, just couldn’t resist that one :E) lateral thinking.........

How about;

Buzz - Rumour - Second Hand News - Fleetwood Mac :ok: – Hampshire, or Surrey airfield even.........Yes/No?

I’m afraid DW, you'll have to be a bit more precise?

F.A.TAlbert 13th November 2010 09:25

Hilife: Verrry good lol!:} :D

robin 13th November 2010 11:15

Oh dear I am down South and am in trouble with Mrs 500. Then again I am always in trouble on that front

Flap 5 14th November 2010 07:47

Elstree is north of London. London being the centre of the universe for the BBC.

jayteeto 14th November 2010 08:21

I'm from Newcastle and I think Middlesborough is down south.......

TRC 14th November 2010 08:54

Well, I must say that I don't care any more.

According to the World map based on Eacott's Projection - I now live in the Far East .......

PlasticCabDriver 14th November 2010 09:37

I used to have plenty on top, but it's now going South very quickly. Not sure if I'm in trouble yet though.

EESDL 14th November 2010 09:43

Not going 'down South' again - haven't got enough toothpaste!

whodictus 14th November 2010 14:57

I should think there is a lot of operators tightening their belts at the moment is it a solo company or part of a bigger set up

carsickpuppy 15th November 2010 01:26

Geography, etymology,

Old High German
-- fascinating

Unfortunately drums in my part of the South (I think) jungle not corrected for magnetic declination, message came through garbled. Good thing there's PPRuNe :8

Walking Ballast 15th November 2010 17:42

Then there is the next issue I guess......from where I am, if I keep going north, eventually, I have no choice but to go south!

The other issue I need to broach, is the afore mentioned misadventures of said helicopter company, just misguided, or are they from going in the wrong direction, perhaps they have just lost their way, or maybe, just maybe the business really isn't DOWN south, just GOING south……..:hmm:

OK, I think I hear mother calling………

407 too 15th November 2010 20:29

well, if the company is going south, the books must be in RED ink, therefore Russian, and according to Johns map, it truly is a southern company.

Sanus 15th November 2010 20:52

After closely studying this thread (with a bottle of Bells for added mental clarity) I deduce we are looking for a Norwegian Dwarf who is having problems with his drums in the jungles near Fleet. After consulting my 'not-upside-down-map' I see that there are only two jungles near Fleet:

The jungle of Black Bushes or the jungle of Fair Oaks.

If we're to help the little fella and his percussion instrument we need to know which jungle to look for.

DW - can you be more precise?

ExMAGE 17th November 2010 17:40

All over?

Any more buzzing or is this event all over now? The jungle drums seem to be quiet now, have they gone quiet or been silenced?

I was still trying to work out who and where, bit like cluedo.

vfr440 20th November 2010 18:31

Personally I think it is the trees lot rather than the bushes. Pretty dire down there at the moment, so I hear ~ VFR
