Bell 412/212 Training

Hi all,

I am looking for somewhere to undertake a Bell 212/412 Type rating course.

I have searched the forum but to no avail and the CAA web site only lists
4 212s and 2 412s .

Bristows web site mentions that they have experience in these types but does not list a type rating in these types.

It doesn't necessarilly have to be JAR training as I could do it through my FAA licence

If the price was right i would be willing to travel to do the course.

Any help you could give me would be appreciated

Thanks in advance:ok: :ok:

Try SAS Flight Academy in Stockholm / Sweden :ok:

Maybe you could save yourself some $$$ by going to the Middle East and getting a rating from either Aero Gulf in Dubai, Gulf Helis in Doha or Abu Dhabi Aviation in Abu Dhabi.
Then you can spend a little time there enjoying the Arabic culture, +100* temperatures, get a few hours of offshore under your belt then BAIL OUT like hundreds have before you. Good Luck.

412 IR

Does anyone know where I might be able to get a 412 IR in the UK? Has to be a CAA approved FTO...

Got the type rating already.

Thanks!

I understand that Alan Mann at mailto:[email protected] offer training on the Bell 412, though when you do it, do the 212 differences course at the samee, it should only add a week to your course.

Try these folks....TRTO...But they're very busy with the commercial season and may not have a machine available. But worth a call....

Ask for Dennis or Robert...Both fluent English speakers and nice guys...

No, unfortunately they do not. Definitely not! Try Bristow or FBH for a professional job ~ VFR

idle stop 17th February 2009 21:28

I believe that Bristow have recently put the 212/412 back on their TRTO approvals; call Bristow at Aberdeen.
FBH do not currently offer a civilian course on either variant.
There is also a JAR TRTO in Croatia: Zagreb, I think.

There's no JAR FCL2 TRTO in Croatia which offers B212 TR at this moment...actually there is no a helicopter TRTO nor FTO in Croatia at all :(

As for the Bristow, I have called Aberdeen about an year ago for the B212 TR and they had no helicopters available...

Heli-Ice 12th March 2009 22:40

What is the name of this company you call FBH?

Heli-Ice 12th March 2009 23:11

Thank you :ok:

Heli-Ice 27th September 2009 11:31

I contacted FBH to find out that they only do military or government training contracts, not individuals.

Guess you have to look further.

212/412 Ir

Hi,

I am a current mil pilot with a Jaa CPL type rating on the Bell 212, looking to obtain a Jaa IR on type. Already checked the links above but with no joy.

Advice on current JAA Organisations and IRIs would be appreciated.

212/412 Ir

All,

Thanks for the replies so far and the PM,s. Just waiting for OAA to get back to me. Also tried Inaer and helisul but no joy. JAA land is a big place, there must be somewhere to get an IR on the 212.

PPruners help required.

helipilot2 13th January 2011 17:08

Happy new year PPruners. SURELY, there is a JAA FTO offering the IR on the Bell 212/412. All contacts above have been checked with no joy. :ugh:

N707ZS 13th January 2011 18:52

Have you tried Spain Inaer or FAASA.

Heli-Ice 14th January 2011 13:28

Links please?

TunaSandwich 14th January 2011 14:39

INAER do not have an FTO, only TRTO so unable to do an IR.

FAASA has an FTO but as far as I know do there IR courses on A109's. I would suggest getting in touch with them to see if they could do it in a 212/412 although I think it unlikely. Also might be an issue getting hold of an English speaker to give you the information, although I'm sure the IR instructors are fluent in English;)

http://www.faasa.org/index2.cfm?codigo=0400

Good luck! let us know.

N707ZS 15th January 2011 07:59

FAASA run basic corses on Hughes 300s then operate Bell 212/412s for fire dutys. They have just bought a large number of AW119s.

e-miles 15th January 2011 10:53

Hi all, Faasa is doing IR course on the Bell 412, no more on the A109.

Cheers

412 sim

The 412 sim in Dubai is JAR approved, although as of a few months ago they didnt have a resident examiner, but they did say they were getting one!

Heli-Ice 29th December 2011 03:32

I guess this has been posted before but...

Would any of ou like to share where one can get a JAA approved Bell 212/412 type rating training and what should one expect to pay for it?

maeroda 29th December 2011 07:25

training?

@Heli-Ice

go and gather some info's at Oxford simulator (former SAS) in Stockolm, Sweden; now their sym is JAA approved for type rating and comes approx. 1000€/hour dry.

Otherwise if you cross the Alps southbound you will manage to spend over 2500€/flight hour if going for the real machine in Airgreen, Elilombarda, Inaer, Elitaliana.
They all have web sites.

Cheers

Bell 212 /412 IR

Hi,

I am still trying to find a JAA FTO capable of conducting a 15 hour JAA IR package in the Bell 212/412. 10 hrs minimum in a FNPT2 and 5 hours in the aircraft incl skill test. With the implementation of EASA from 8 April, keen to get it complete in Feb/Mar before any changes have an impact.

The following have been tried;

FAASA, Proflight, Inaer (not a FTO), UK (no FTO able to)

PPruners help required.

GoodGrief 17th January 2012 16:41

Sounds like you want to convert ICAO IR to a JAR IR.
Why does it have to be a 212/412 ?

helipilot2 17th January 2012 17:00

Goodgrief,

UK Mil/CAA dispensations. Already have a JAA type rating on the 212/412, which would prevent having to complete another type rating, providing I find a company to complete the IR package.

hueyracer 17th January 2012 17:05

Not mentioned before?

Get in contact with Mr. Bönig from the company "Motorflug" in Baden-Baden/Germany.

He will take you to the Simulator in Stockholm....the cheapest (AFAIK) you can get.....

I´ll need to go there by myself....so maybe we can share one or two hours....

Huey please check you pvt messages...Thanks

Hueyracer,

Thanks for the info, just emailed the company. I'll keep you posted.

Bell 212 Type Rating Re-validation

My UK CAA ATPL (H) needs bringing up to date and thanks to the recent ruling that prevents CFS Agents from conducting the type rating assessment, I now need to seek the services of a civilian TRE in order to make the grade. As I am currently instructing on the type in the military, I may be able to gain use of an aircraft with which to conduct the check but it seems there are very few Bell - rated TREs out there. Does anyone out thereknow of a jobbing Bell 212/412 TRE who might be able to help?

ambidextrous 14th February 2013 07:44

B212/412 TRE

Hi, why don't you try PMing 'Troglodita' ? He's a well seasoned commercial 212/412 man who spends his time between Dubai and Nigeria. He may be able to help or recommend someone.
With fraternal greetings,
ambi:ok:

apb 14th February 2013 07:54

Mad, in Spain you can do It with:

FAASA Aviación

and

INAER, líder global en servicios aéreos de emergencia y mantenimiento de aeronaves

helipilot2 14th February 2013 17:36

Hi MH,

Good to see you the other day . I tried to follow a similar path but for the IR, unfortunately there was only one possible company in the UK that could assist and they own your current aircraft.:ugh:

There is a couple of TRI/TRE's in EASA land that could help. Please see the PPRUNE link below:

http://www.pprune.org/rotorheads/326...-training.html

Hope that's useful.
