Going into LAX. The helipads are located on the roof of the top left hand building of the group surrounding the tower. The clearance goes something like "Cross 25 left midfield at 1500 feet, landing West pads at your own risk"

Out of interest, what are they seeding out of that hopper, and how many passes would they get out of one load? Seems like it's spewing out!
SLC. |
In What part of NZ are the pics taken, Autorotate?
|
Simlink - They are spreading superphosphate fertilizer. Its not really about how many passes as they might just do one long pass covering a number of paddocks or they might do ten or so passes if its a small paddock so its like how long is a piece of string.
407driver - They are based at Ardmore airfield just south of Auckland but the topdressing was being done out towards Alfriston, country suburb of Auckland and the spraying out on the Manukau Pensinula, over the other side of the harbour from Auckland Intl Airport. Autorotate. |

826NAS with a stream landing, HMS Eagle about October 1971 (checking the log book, I'm in 142 on 5 spot, with Chris Waite as P2! A few vintage pics, at the request of HeloPilot. More from other places later. These came from a rummage through an old Canadian Forces PR file in Halifax. No idea where & when they were taken.

This is at RAF Valley, Whirlwind 10 from the Search and Rescue Training Unit. This crevice near the base was used for training winchmen/operators. I'd bet they still use it, so if anyone finds a lens cap in there you know where to send it.

May Rotorheads Calendar Directly from Nicaragua!
Well no, I'm not really in Nicaragua, those of you who thought I might have been the lucky one to get locked up in a cell with 4 exotic dancers :)
That wasn't me :( Which brings me to the fact that the May calendar is ready and can be downloaded HERE! This has been one of my favorites, I hope you like it. Thanks to Flying Lawyer for the great picture! http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PP...ayCalendar.jpg |
From a photographic viewpoint, gorgeous photo. Beautiful lighting, nice movement in the blades. Great choice.

Ya, the colors came out pretty well on that shot, eh?
Nicely done. |

Well done BlenderPilot. :ok:
It's a beautiful photograph of a helicopter that will go down in history as a classic. BTW, when I dowloaded the photo I could see a bar at the bottom with details of the picture but when I set it as my desktop the bar disappeared. Do I need to change any settings? |
