Used Ibal on Ipad for the past 4 years.
Email it back to base and the copy is there for the record if required Available online for a small fee. Too easy. |

5 bladed H145 at HAI 2019 Atlanta

D3? Worlds worst kept secret? It has been on the cards for years. Flying since 2006?
Been watching it fly around for the last couple of weeks. Certainly less noise for sure. I guess Airbus Helicopters is not one of Ned's clients with Heli Ops? Stealing their thunder? |

Cheers |

According to EC personnel, that 5 bladed rotor isn't going anywhere near the new 145.

Numpty,
Living up to your tag there? They will be fine so long as they never put the MGB on the back of an Aussie truck! :ok: |

Mmh... :) skadi It is a smoother ride, but that is it. No performance upgrade according to the AH brochure charts. From AH brochure (same airframe configuration): https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....c9ffcb9044.jpg AH D2 and D3 brochure info... not as advertised. |
Anyone flown with this newly offered H145 SB - passive anti vibration device (SARIB) - yet? Would be interesting to know if it really makes such a big difference as they claim (58% reduction!?).
Long nights with the NVG mounted really do take its toll in this otherwise great aircraft :bored: |

Long nights with the NVG mounted really do take its toll in this otherwise great aircraft :bored: Its slightly better, but some complain about their feet feeling numb, cause of the different vibrations between body and feet touching the floor. Our Union made Tests together with an university and had some remarkable findings about work safety and times, which shouldn’t be exceeded while flying NVG in an H145 With Sarib longer times are actually possible- but only on the vibration side. Bending muscles out of the normal operating range while looking down hasn’t been taken in account yet |

Interesting how LONG the sleeve of the blades are ! It looks aerodynamically lift uneffective for a great part of the blade (because there is not much of trailing edge on the sleeve)
would that mean that the stalled center hub section is larger in autorotation, just thinking. nice looking ship with 5 blades from above |

Anybody told the pilot that having a mask dangling from your ear is just not worth the 'effort'? Binary choice really: keep it in your pocket or wear it. Anything else is just daft.
|
Which pilot would that be?
|
The one in the RHS in the middle photograph

Thank you!

What's the black leading edge goo (1 metre from tips) in the first photo?
Looks like a anti-wear sealant that never set before the rescue crew took delivery of it? |
What's the black leading edge goo (1 metre from tips) in the first photo? Doesn't like the refective leading edge and prefers to see a consistent surface length. Matt black paint is applied and you are correct it may not have dried completely. Apparently - It views each blade from each rotor through a ten degree window and operates on the principle that a high-flying blade will remain in the field of view longer than a low flying blade. |

Zoom in on the Honeywell FasTrak tracking camera mounted above the radar dome and to the left of the wiper attachment in all 3 photos.

Apparently - It is basically a laser tachometer but analyses more info than just the RPM which will actually comes from a reference pickup on the swashplate. The black mark on the blade is PU blade tape over the butt joint in the metal erosion strip. |

RVDT, got it! Yes, I can see the camera now, and the silver tape running down the side taping the wire harness to the canopy.
The black has been removed in the picture with the 3 guys standing in front of it. |
