Perhaps slightly more adrealin-einducing was this incident to G-LOGO.

Lose a blade pin and survive ? Has someone got his lottery numbers ?

AlanM 2nd November 2004 19:36

Yes - quite a surprise just how much turbulence can be generated from somehting realtively small such as an A319.

Have a look at the GPS plot - showing G-LOGO flying a dead straight line and the A319 flying an odd track (or is it just the way I looked at it)

md 600 driver 2nd November 2004 21:17

i was the one that just got out of G logo the chief helicopter pilot up in the heavens smiled on me that day

when i saw the photo of the accident my side was very badly squashed and damaged, the pilot said to me that if i had not got out of the aircraft before the accident he would have been so close to me he would be able to kiss me ,i replied if i was still alive i would have let him

alls well pilot ok

any translators?

The Nr Fairy 3rd November 2004 07:18

From the report, I think the A319 was flying an ILS, which may account for the wibbly track if the handling pilot's having an off day.

TC:

Translations for md600's post ? He's lucky to be alive, and is suppressing his female side.

GroundGirl 3rd November 2004 14:02

MD 600 - nyou were rather luck as was the pilot! Saw the pics and immediately thought G-LEGO! - at least the pilot laughed! (think he was glad that he could!) Seriously tho he was lucky to be able to walk away from that one!

They've taken the November pages away again - I just tried to look at them. Daresay they'll be back in a couple of days, but will they have the same URL? If they haven't, I'll post the link in my usual style. Aythangyew.

Pat Malone 6th November 2004 19:09

November pages still missing.
Any idea why? And did anyone keep a copy, so we can compare the new with the old?

headsethair 6th November 2004 20:49

Pat - if you use IE browser and "subscribe" to the AAIB page, your browser will automatically check for updates on a regular basis. I do this - and you'd be amazed how often the AAIB publishes something for a few hours and then withdraws it.
And sometimes they publish a "month" link which goes to nothing.
I think they must have a nervy IT dept.

cyclic_fondler 6th November 2004 21:14

When the list of accidents were first released, the list did seem to contain a lot less accidents than normal.

Maybe they sent out on incomplete list too early and we just have to wait a few more days.

Hilico 11th November 2004 20:59

They're back!

The first link, liberally commented on above, relates to the emergency landing of a Gazelle following a 'loud bang'.

The second refers to the 369's suspected wake turbulence encounter - the severe turbulence gave rise to a vibration which led the pilot to put it down PDQ - alas slightly too PDQ.

There's also a reference to a Bolkow incident, but that wasn't rotary. And it's still a quiet month.
