I also did my R44 endorsement with HTT at Bankstown. The Chief Pilot, Mark Donohoe is a top bloke as well as being an excellent pilot/instructor. I cannot recommend them highly enough.:ok: :ok: :ok: :ok: :ok:

For some reason, they grouped Air Tragic Controllers in with Pilots - that must be where the pay scale of over $1200 a week came from!

According to The Australian, Bristow are recuiting again for FO's.

Anyone fancy filling the curious in on details of remuneration, rostering, locations, career progression from FO etc etc.

There's been a few grumbles that things 'aren't as good as they used to be' but mostly the feedback seems to be overwhelmingly good... have I got rose tinted specs or are these guys a good option for a whipper snapper with 1000TT and a C-IR(SE).

When you apply they send you all the details, its 2 weeks on 2 off and starts 40k for 2 years then 60k etc etc. Just drop them an e-mail and they will post you the info.

Where have you used a c-ir single engine before??

And it does seem you need to be younger than about 31 if you are to be considered. Obviously they can't say that but 31 does seem to be about the cut off age.

Cheers for that guys... I managed to pick up an bit of lead in info from Bristow. It all sounds pretty good. It actually sounds like a normal job where they look after their employees... insurance, super, loss of licence etc.

Fortuantely I'm a young fella in the scheme of things.

Oh and TolipZO... a single engine IR is a little less prohibitavely expensive for a kiwi than having to do the whole lot in a 222 or S76 here as per our requirements. We dont have a nice sim or an approved single IFR machine like you lot.

Good luck with it mate. They will also probably make you move to Perth, which is good if you're single.

Of course, I'd move to Perth tomorrow...........if it was in Australia. Quite polite of them to accept our currency though.

When the mass exodus begins from Nigeria....seveal dottering old guys will be looking for jobs...even as co-jo's. Better get in early and avoid the rush.

Do they still us the term ... "enthusiasic co-pilots wanted" ... cos you might find that you soon become "un-enthusiastic" after you've become "surplus to requirements" ...???

Anybody knows what the requirments are and wetter they allow JAR licenses for co-pilots? And besides that (I know I am asking a lot! :) ) has anybody got some contact details, only found the email addres from bristow europe's website.

Whats this nasty rumour that Bristow train co's and keep them only as often as they dump em after a few months once a job is done or a prospective hole shows no further promise?

Rumours are a right @#$%@# but it sets one thinking... all the way to Perth for three months training for what might only be three months work... doesn't sound right... maybe someone can substantiate or shoot down this one for us:confused:

It takes a long time for the recruitment process and they narrow down the candidates using phsyco tests, mats and some other thing i cant remember. Then they pull their people in from all over Australia to interview you, there is a panel of 5 people and they ask lovely gentle questions to make you feel at ease and then when you have fallen off to sleep they let you know how wonderfull you are and they will be in touch. SO i dont think they would waste their time just for three months. If you are right for the job and you you keep your nose clean, are single and like sharing the bathroom with another co-pilot maybe in Karatha, then you will be with them for the long term. They Give you all kinds of training in the first 3 months which costs a lot and they have to answer to shareholders.

Dont panic, dont listen to rumors they are just picky and have lots of people wanting to work for them.

Oh and i didnt get the job!

If you get the training....make some money and they send you packing down the road....and you owe them nothing for it....sounds like a fair deal. Lots of pilots are ex-Bristow so it is not like you will be joining a very exclusive club nowadays.

Exclusive is when you can claim to be ex-BHL, Evergreen, Houston.....and Air Log....then by golly....you have done something!

Before you ask....haven't qualified yet.

Any current or imedaitely past Bristow co's care to elaborate or wade in on any of the above?
