That video has been around for a while . I think I first saw it in 99 or 2000.

Just a shot in the dark, but you never know!!!
Would a kite system work better? That way the bucket would appear underneath the helicopter. You could make the refuelling point underneath the main rotor thereby getting round the problem of extended refuelling probes. Of course you would need an acurate con by the aircrewman, or you could have some sort of computer lead system / video screen. Hmmmm..... I'm of to the patents or lockheed / boeing .....patents first, then lockheed / boeing :p |

Did you post the video here in all your years on the internet after you saw it? I bet not, so what is the purpose of demeaning my contribution to this forum by posting in my thread implying the content I use is "old"....... go make yourself feel important in another thread. |
Have moved my videos to a new home
Enstrom Displays at Aerofair http://www.battle-heli.co.uk/videos/G-BYKF.wmv or http://www.battle-heli.co.uk/videos/...m%20G-BYKF.wmv The Original Display at Shoreham in the 300 http://www.battle-heli.co.uk/videos/DRKJ2002.WMV Hope you enjoy them on a faster Server Big files so if you are on dial up, you are in for a long wait Jerry |
For those on on dial-up connections, the easiest way to view large files is ~
Right-click on the link Select Save Target As ..... to save the file to your hard disk and then play it. It will take a long time to download but it avoids the irritation of viewing in fits and starts as the file buffers, and you can carry on using the net for other things (eg reading the posts on this forum) while the file downloads in the background. |
Vortex Ring Video Clip
Chaps,
I seem to recall seeing a clip some years ago of a Canadian (I think) Sea King which got into vortex ring (I think) at an airshow and ended up making 'a rather heavy landing'. Does anybody have a link to this clip, or indeed any similar clips or photos? It would be really handy to have this in a presentation that I am preparing. Thanks, Gedney |

Rotorbee,
That's what I was after - thanks for your help, very much appreciated! Gedney |

Good One |
That was a top video! Question for anyone in the know.....is it standard practice to land the way the Blackhawk’s did i.e. tail hard and first followed by several bounces before settling down?
ppf :p |
Cheers for a great vid christo!
|
PPf, Sikorsky's are famous for "Find out where the Tailwheel hits first than see where the rest plops down." I can only speak for the CH-34/S-58 but its all from the same shop.
|
Cheers much B Sousa! Did look rather unorthodox as I’m probably use to the 'more' gently UK operations where the landings look a bit less painful, those i've seen that is!
..........still a top video thou! ppf ;) |
Fantastic video Christo! Thanks.
|
Can someone post it somewhere else. My firewall won't let me get at it from that site.
Cheers, BM |
I can get at it either!!:(

Being slightly Dioreherish at playing with computers, I've spent eight hours rebuilding all my info , somewhere in the ether I did something that was almost as bad as taking your hand off the pole in an R22, wont say I crashed and burned, but almost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
