It makes sense to change to proven, capable and versatile H145Ms instead of upgrading the Tiger.

Yep, let's take a plastic helicopter whose control runs go through the windscreen (!!!) and use it for combat. One well placed 50 Cal round through the centre join of the windscreen, and the crew are passengers.

Wouldnt the best replacement for the troubled Tiger be another armored purpose built bird, and not a side-by-side utility bird? Leonardo is developing the AW249, successor to the A-129 family. Maybe sensors, and not Apache-level armor and speed isn't as paramount to European armies these days, who knows. Could they also wait for the winner of the FARA competition (Bell 360 v Sikorsky Raider X) to have a whole new generation of abilities?

The Germans are, and have been for some time, defence freeloaders. They are quite happy to spend their euro's on home grown products they know are completely unsuitable as Vlad in Invader will have to get through the Polish, who are well trained and equipped, first, whilst Otto and his mates await assistance from the US, UK & Canada.

I wish the EU nothing but success, but I don't see why we should waste the lives of any more generations on their security, when they won't take their own defence seriously.
