R44 down Sherburn airfield
Any news..? |
Looks like G-LLIZ |
Did they get out OK ? Isn't that one of Heilds machines ?
E. |
Any news on this? Cant find it in the news
|
It was indeed G-LLIZ, one of Hields’. As as far as I know single pilot walked away unharmed. Should have kept his hands on the controls... |
If the rumours are true then the AAIB report should make interesting reading..................

Is it true the pilot had left the scene before the Helimed got there ???
HM. |
Any more news on this? |
Well it is a rumour network so let's see who comes up with the most imaginative story of why a Competent pilot should crash a nice Machine in such a way -And not wait for the Helimed to arrive -not open to Robinson Bashers who hate them with a vegance ..... |

I think the lack of media coverage a big clue as to why the pilot disappeared. All very clandestine. I could say more, but you know how it is.
|
I didn’t do it.... |
I didn’t do it....nobody saw me...you can't prove a thing.. |

Obviously the pilot was whisked away by their security team and Boris immediately agreed a shut down on any media reporting, as requested by Buckingham Palace .... That’s the second time he’s managed a shut down recently! |
This is like a game of Cluedo! |

Hands off the controls in a Robinson? Gulp!!! I used to feel nervous taking my hand off the collective, let alone the cyclic.

In a car crash, the driver isn’t usually hustled away by his security team. I mean, look at the pictures of Prince, er somebody else, in his Range Rover. More seriously, I would like to benefit from the AAIB’s findings, so I hope it isn’t going to be too hushed up. |

Just a question,, If it was a car crash, leaving the scene is an offence and usually done because the driver is pissed or not insured etc,, what are the rules for aviation regarding legging it ??

Dave, you are absolutely right and I can only apologise for straying into a pseudo reality conjecture. I got carried away.

Right, I like a challenge so I have done more digging. Interestingly, a day later a bunch of Ospreys did a night ‘exercise’ at Burn airfield. So not a million miles away and odd to pick a gliding airfield when so many active military ones are around. And how does this link to the R44 and disappearing pilot? Perhaps a reconnaissance run by a secret squirrel person? Someone more used to flying an Osprey and they forgot to pull carb heat? So they clear off out of both secrecy and embarrassment.
|
The plot allegedly involves a student pilot, a Lamborghini and a hostelry.........

One confirmed clue it was a competent pilot, secondly the security team can’t fit in a Lamborghini... |

Perhaps the pilot swerved to avoid a UFO.

Am I being totally thick or are talking about a well known gent that lost a newly new squirrel in the last twelve months but saved the lives of those on board after diving down into the aircraft? .........
|
Tech log
If it was G-LLIZ which has been mentioned earlier, surely the tech log will have the details of who was flying it.
Or has that vanished as well? ;) Flight radar for G-LLIZ at Sherbun. Flight lasted 8 mins. https://uk.flightaware.com/live/flight/GLLIZ https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/g-lliz |

G-INFO shows current ARC to March 2020 so FlightAware records may not be up to date?
Certain words appear to have capital letters mid-sentence in various posts above where they are not really needed (placed as clues?): Competent, Machine, Controls, Accident, Investigation and Pilot so far that i've noticed. Apparently single pilot if earlier posts are true, so someone (presumably) with an R44 rating or training for one - though why anyone would take their hands off the controls in a 44 (as appears to be alleged) is beyond me. Also someone who has a security detail with them to 'whisk them away', and someone with contacts to stop all media reporting it seems!! Surprised anyone that important would be flying in a piston single (NOT Robby-bashing, i'm referring to ANY piston single). Any more clues? |

Well, the pilot is no ordinary joe for sure. A crash in public in the UK and not a single photo gets published on PPRUNE. Now that’s some serious horsepower. |
Another interesting point is the Tread Starter hasn’t made any further comments since revealing the registration number of the aircraft. Has he been sworn to secrecy by government spooks? |
I think your all barking up the wrong tree, although heilds does rent heli’s to some celebrity’s from the acting world |

But as this has turned into a great rumour thread, if it was a celeb they could easily have paid off the aircraft owner, the thread starter and jumped in the Lamborghini SUV (as suggested by Bell_Ringer) and disappear. Just saying. |
Okay, so what celebs do we know that can fly a helicopter? Harrison Ford? Tom Cruise? Noel Edmunds?
