If cruising at 500 ft agl with that load even an old S76A would keep cruising. A C model has more grunt, so I'm surprised if it was only a single engine failure & the pilots couldn't fly away or find a better landing spot. Of course we don't have all the info.

I agree on that. Would be interesting to find out what the investigation reveals...

I also heard that it was an open door pipeline survey and photo sortie. Too low and slow lots of pitch pulled? Not much forward speed by the look of it.

Any latest info on hevilift? would they consider fresh FW NZ CPL MEIR nationals?:)

pogo759 9th Nov 2015 08:40

It is definite the cause of the incident is not engine related. Both engine still operating till impact to ground. The investigator suspected this has something to do either with the autopilot or servo's.

Does Hevilift have any offshore transport contracts right now?

212man 8th Nov 2016 20:37

Malaysia maybe?

gulliBell 9th Nov 2016 06:38

Myanmar? Indonesia?

212man 9th Nov 2016 08:08

Myanmar? Indonesia?
Myanmar went to COHC

gulliBell 9th Nov 2016 09:37

The prang they had in Indonesia on the Total contract wouldn't have helped their longevity in the offshore business.

Interestingly, I just noticed Hevilift advertising for B206 pilots to work in remote Australia.
8 weeks on 2 weeks off, very easy minimums. Guessing probably paying the GA Award rate and no more. Smart move, they're bound to get a truck loads of applicants bearing in mind the current state of the industry in that part of the world.

Who owns Heavi Lift

I understand that HeaviLift is a privately-owned company, ban anyone on this thread tell me who the owners are?

Mary 20th Sep 2020 20:03

.....sorry for the typo.............."can" anyone tell me.................

gulliBell 21st Sep 2020 12:02

Paul and Jan Booij, as far as I know.

nowherespecial 21st Sep 2020 12:51

gulliBell is correct assuming you mean Hevilift. Not sure the corporate structure of their PNG entity (assuming that's the question owing the thread title).

gulliBell 21st Sep 2020 16:10

As far as I know the different business units are separate entities with their own Chief Pilot etc, but the senior management of the Hevilift Group are the Booij brothers.

bombdoorsopen 29th Sep 2020 11:07

They have offshore contract in Malaysia, working from Labuan with the S76C++
