Possibly nothing to do with HL, the airline part of Regional Aviation was sold off some time ago, but i may be wrong.
I would assume that before Exxon Mobil signed a contract with Hevilift due diligence was done and no reasons to doubt Hevilift's ability to fulfill the needs of the contract.
Information from PM is that it is all sh1t, PNG rumours tasol
Fixed wing in oz sold long time ago.. the people who brought that section have gone buggerup.
Think they still have a rotor AOC however. |
They are looking for Pilots at the moment
I hear they are looking for anyone / everyone at the moment.
Fixed Wing Drivers, Rotary Wing Drivers, Loadmaster Supervisors, 1 x CEO, Chief Crewman, etc. etc. They are walking out the door in a continuous line. Gotta be a problem there some where??? From what I have been told, (over a beer), the Dutchmen need to get their heads out of their,,,,,, Clogs. Poor old Jan Senior must be so disappointed in the Booij boys. But in answer to your post, if you know which way is "up", they will probably hire you. |
I hear the reason for the the hiring is expansion, in PNG and Asia. Fixed wing 2 new ATR s extra 412s and 407s. CEO was only there short term, to get Hevilift back on their feet, which he has done, and now moving on.
(Ya gotta know who to ask.) cheers JB |
They are walking out the door in a continuous line. Gotta be a problem there some where??? Was at their place in Hagen the other day, great facility, good aircraft and very busy people. Do you know something or just a sh1t stirrer. BH |
They are certainly not desperate for pilots, I know a few well qualified blokes who exceed the mins and have not heard a whisper in response to applications.
I agree with Heliringer
They hired a few pilots before the end of 2010, and are good for helicopter pilots at the moment. No idea about fixed wing drivers though. |
I heard that a couple of engineers were recently offered contracts promised in the mail, only to have the whole thing drop in a heap with the Head Office - one had already quit his job!
Apparently the engineers are still walking out in big numbers, for various reasons. There is always a little bit of movement between the companies in PNG but this seems to be a lot more than that... |
The overheads appear to be getting bigger.
And if you look over on the D&G forum it is not just engineers getting this treatment.
Geeup, would you care to give us a little more detail on what you mean? |
HeviLift
Does anyone know what is happening in Hevilift? It would seem that they're expanding further into south east Asia as their website has vacancies for a Bangkok-based regional manager and a Singapore-based assistant manager. I understand that the Indonesian operation is gaining strength.
Hevilift
I see that HVL in PNG require 2 chief pilots????? Two!!!
Back to back?

Nothing unusual in that, I had to have two CP positions as I was operating FW and RW on my AOC. Luckily I was approved for both positions ;) |
OR perhaps - 1 helicopter VFR CP and 1 helicopter IFR CP. That is the way they used to be operating.
The adverts state a FW Cp and a rotary wing cp seems a bit strange to after two seperate cp at the same time!!!!!

Yep John your on to it.HVL used to be the big player in PNG but now the other companies are ahead in all ways, from wages to equipment.:ugh:
Cameron is still there. Good guy and works hard from what I hear.
S76
Where is HL operating their S-76's and on what contract? Any inside info? It does not specify anything on their website. Thanks guys.
Indonesia, Balikpapan for Total I think.
S76 operations in Burma for Daewoo?
heard they won't be there for much longer, Daewoo are looking for new Heli contractor |
Any idea why???
HL is alive and well. 4 S76 at BPN and more going to Malaysia in Q4.
To Labuan? Are they going to be SFS aircraft operated on a HL contract?
Was there ever any single VFR work in Burma? Was it all offshore?
Naa all twine IF off shore. Looking forward to some exploration work one day, would be a great gig, but remember jungle is jungle no matter what tropical country your in.:}
I remember seeing the blocks on offer for oil and gas last year and while there is a huge chunk of offshore work to the south of the country there is also alot of on shore stuff available.
I heard that Hevilift had an S-76 accident today close to BPN. Aircraft found in a remote area upside down, some injuries but no reported fatalities thank goodness.

Helikopter Milik PT Total E&P Indonesia Jatuh di Anggana | Kaltimnews
Total has more than their share of bad luck with aviation. |
And for those that don't read Indonesian... the report basically says the aircraft suffered an engine failure and made an emergency landing. 7 pax and crew. Pilot has a broken arm, all others only lightly injured. Local police chief unable to access the crash scene as Total has cordoned it off due to the risk of fire.
Surely an en route engine failure shouldn't result in a forced landing in an S-76C++?
As Terminus says an engine failure in the cruise with such a light load shouldn't be a problem. Even the original S76 A in 1978 with 14 on board flew perfectly well on one engine.
An engine failure or perhaps settling with power while inspecting pipelines...? I call upon the experts flying a S76C. Two crew and five pax plus full fuel. Is it possible to fly away on one unit operating? Considering that it is a hot climate in Kalimantan. And I almost forgot; operating at 500ft AGL or so the report says...
What report are you reading Alouette? The linked newspaper article does not mention 500 feet or pipeline survey. In fact it says the aircraft was enroute to its destination, ie not conducting any operation at the time of the accident.
Hadianto further explained that the helicopter, operated by PT Hevilift Aviation Indonesia, was flying at a height of 500 feet when it was forced to make an emergency landing in a mangrove forest in Tanjung Dewa, Anggana.
- See more at: Helicopter on survey mission prior to incident, says Total | The Jakarta Post However, I don't say that the Jakarta Post is a credible source...but 500ft...??? |
