No replies

I rang and got put through to Patrick and left a message on his voice mail.
I have also emailed. No replies yet, but then again I am looking for only a co-jo spot as I don't have enought hours for twin command.
But, you have to start somewhere.

Venator 3rd Feb 2009 06:39

Think you'll find copilot's are recruited from within the company, then they'll be looking to promote those guys.As for 'direct entry' command jobs, you would need significant 212 or 412 command, plus considerable PNG & Longline time etc.Cheers

rwm

rwm. You'll find that Jacksons Airport is a long way from Mt Hagen! :}

rwm 4th Feb 2009 16:36

Nothomemuch, your right about that, but Pt.Moresby is were the check is printed, and is also here you get to leave PNG from.

rwm 4th Feb 2009 16:38

Thanks for the link Night Beetle. I got a reply almost as soon as I sent them an email. But boy does the tax take a big hit to the take home pay.

NotHomeMuch 6th Feb 2009 01:43

rwm. You may find that the cheques are printed in Oz and that Moresby is not the only way to leave or arrive in PNG. Try doing a little homework :ok:

rwm 6th Feb 2009 15:01

don't need to. I have done all the homework I need to make up my mind. Besides I've been there, and I've done that.

Adhoc 11th Feb 2009 08:12

Hevilift Solomons

Hear two BK-117 shipped from Heliworks NZ to Solomon Islands for OZ Government Job does that mean Heavilift have been given their marching orders.:E

HevI_214 11th Feb 2009 09:48

Adhoc what would you know of Hevilift ? as for the Solomon's Hevilift will be taking over in force

Night Beetle 11th Feb 2009 19:19

Is Digi-cell looking further into the Pacific to spread their telco networks?

Maybe the BK's are there for that.

Stubble 4th Mar 2009 06:24

I heard today that the 2 Heliwork BK's will be staying in the Solomons and that Hevilift will be finishing up in April.

hevi214 5th Mar 2009 07:13

All True

Hey Stubble, it's all true :ugh: management once again have had there head up there ass, they have done things with this company that normal people would be ashamed of and haven't given a hoot to the drivers making them the money, they couldn't lie straight in bed. If they happen to read this forum I hope they have a good look at themselves, I am now leaving for bigger and better things, but there is now other guys left with nothing looking for work, I wouldn't work for them again. As for Heliwork, wish them well :D, as for hevilift it's a slowly sinking ship and suggest all that can swim to do so quickly :E

fadecdegraded 5th Mar 2009 21:25

You have hit the nail on the head hevi214 nothing more to add to that.

gulliBell 5th Mar 2009 21:51

Like there's been nothing much more to ad since the JV undertaking 4 years ago, it's just been more and more of the same, and it will remain that way. And with the present economic climate it shouldn't be difficult for HL to find the pilots it needs to do what it needs to do, so there's absolutely no motivation for them to change the way things are.

Night Beetle 5th Mar 2009 23:52

hevi 214

Mate, what has happened since your last post?

Been given the "arse" by the sound of things.

True things are hotting up in HIR PDL up to their old tricks again, poor showing in Timor.Should stick to fighting fires and rest for the remainder of the year . But they may have to front up now with the change of government(all deals are off apparently)

As for HL management I guess they are trying to keep everyone happy, their employees are the lowest paid on the block, fact.
New tax scheme( crazy) to stay the same you pay the PNG government way more in tax.
Well done Colin

bob22 17th Mar 2009 08:44

Whats going on

I'd like to work for HV one day but have they just lost more work and people. AFAP site jobs advert for Sol Isl. is this a trend?

bob22 18th Mar 2009 05:44

Well ?

anyone know what's happening with HL

PPRuNeUser0212 18th Mar 2009 07:48

bob22,
as far as the Sols goes, RAMSI contract up for grabs and tender selection is in progress and supposedly to be announced in May.

geeup 4th Apr 2009 23:49

So what is the G O ??
Has Hevilift still got the contract in the Solomons or has it been lost?
If not are the pilots heading back to PNG?

heliduck 5th Apr 2009 04:10

To quote nightbeetle - "their employees are the lowest paid on the block, fact."

If Hevilift is the lowest payers on the block who is the highest?

geeup 5th Apr 2009 04:29

There is no way Hevilift is the lowest paid on the block...
I've heard some positions in Hevilift are grossly over paid!
And if that was not the case people would have seeked life else where

bob22 5th Apr 2009 06:25

I heard HL were kicked out before the Sol contract was up and that there was a big exodus of pilots about 12 months ago or more, over pay and other issues:confused:

Adhoc 6th Apr 2009 09:25

Thats right Bob22 contract was terminated early, AFP and PDL fed up with HL management or lack there of.
:DWell done Clog Boys.

hevi214 6th Apr 2009 10:40

HL are out and the NZ boys are in :D, poor HL :{ the ship is sinking, no surprise there :ugh: management don't give a  who they lie to, they will say and do what is needed to hang on to what they have, Adhoc your being to nice, the Clog boys should be called politicians, promising one thing doing another :} but it was only a matter of time before they lost the Solo's like Timor, the one's who have suffered from all there lying are the twin drivers, Management don't care, they will just pluck out a few more single engine guys from the ranks, promise the world, give them a few special projects, tell them what is needed to do there dirty work, distance them self if it turns ugly just to replace there twin drivers for less pay, := Be very wherry guys, good luck :E

CPL 1 7th Apr 2009 06:14

What a crock of S....t some of you blokes talk.
PDL want HL out as it wants its own helicopters (Helicorp) in there before the big 3 year contract due end of the year with AFP. The BK's there as a fill in with the NVG's until Helicorp can sort out their s...t as we all know BK's havn't the legs to do what is wanted by AFP and Helicorp arn't geared up yet to takeover from HL so PDL want HL out.
Its easier for Helicorp to come in with 412/212 later when HL arn't there.
PDL want HL out not the AFP.
98% serviceability for HL at Honiara...36% servicabilty for Helicorp at Timor. Who would you want if you were the Aust Federal Police?
I think there is some sour grapes on this thread as HL got rid of some "dead wood" and by the look of it, arn't happy about it.

Adhoc 8th Apr 2009 09:52

Serviceability 98% ??????????????????????????

one-tok 9th Apr 2009 00:27

Well done CPL :D I think you hit the nail right on the head there! :ok:

bob22 9th Apr 2009 05:36

one tok

having reread this thread from the begining perhaps the nail you say was hit on the head is another one entering the lid of HL's coffin ;)

zedozedo 9th Apr 2009 07:33

There is more deadwood now in Honiara than there has ever been. The guys who can't get jobs elsewhere are staying on because they have left their run too long. I'd start moving boys before you are back in Hagen...if you are asked. good luck

bob22 9th Apr 2009 08:18

um are they already gone or not. It would seem they are

PPRuNeUser0212 9th Apr 2009 10:52

CPL1 you've got it in one. :ok:
Adhoc maybe it should have read "availability" instead of serviceability.
HL still in Sols for the time being. Not sure about the deadwood comment, a lot of very experienced people in the operation.
The new contract provider is still to be announced, sometime in May, someone will be shafted by PDL whatever way it goes. Which is a pity, the HL and HW people are all a good bunch and have enjoyed a few relaxing ales together, as it should be. :D

hevi214 11th May 2009 06:40

To all Hevilift personnel who worked on the Solomon’s PDL job in Honiara be advised the tax that management took out of our pay has apparently not been passed onto Solomon taxation. If it’s not passed on as it should be we should be reimbursed, 14 months deductions is better off in my pocket than HL management.

heliduck 11th May 2009 14:15

I believe the Solomons contract renewal was to be announced yesterday. Is Hevilift out?

Night Beetle 11th May 2009 22:03

Hevi214

Sort of narrows the chances of working in the Solomons again if what you say is correct.

Do we see any proof? Have heard of this before, it does not look well for future work in that part of the world. Just greed and deception. Bang.........:=

Semi Rigid 12th May 2009 03:55

Is it true the Booij Brothers are paying their expat aviation employees in PNG kina now? Does Swire Group still own 50% (49%)?

bob22 12th May 2009 07:32

Someone who knows someone told someone who told me that HL did a runner from the Sol's before their machines were impounded due to not paying taxes etc how's that for a rumour sad if true:(

rustypliers 17th May 2009 02:31

Casual 212 pilots

Have heard that Hevilift are looking for casual 212 pilots, anyone else heard about it, and if so where are they needed.

Screw Loose 22nd Jun 2009 03:43

Hevi Lift / Heli Nuigini / Pacific

Back again.... rather than the continual bashing of HL, and being more positive, wondering what else job wise / work wise is happening in Png at the moment.
Heard H/nuigini put off a few people recently...not sure if its true.
Is there much work in the country?.... work coming in the future?
Just seeing whats happening
SL

geeup 15th Sep 2009 00:52

So who is in the Solomons now?
That NZ BK company or is it PDLs 412 & 212?
What happened to the B3 company?

fadecdegraded 1st Jul 2010 05:47

When you say administration do you mean the same as liquidation?, if not what do you mean
