Thanks for that Dave,
masterpieces of the slide rule, and others get to rave about the rotorway exec, a piece of machinery aided and abetted by the calculating genius of the computer, and well put in the shade by these turnouts.

Haven't looked, but are there static and or flying examples around?

That would be a good project.

Interesting footage, Dave. FL-282 (Coventry air museum) is a well engineered machine. There is also a Foche-Achgelis automotive kite of same era at Duxford.

Anyone know the year(s) roughly, of the films?
The following will give the limits.

Fa223:

54 produced. 12 of which were destroyed or captured before flying.
First flight - 8 Mar 1940.
Last flight - 23 May 1945


Fl262 & 282:

24 produced. 10 may not have flown.
First flight - 26 June 1936.
Last flight - 9 May 1945
