Is that Lu Z ?
|
Two reasons why it is not Lu Z
To: Heliport
1) I'm not that old. 2) I would neve fly in an aircraft that small. No toilet. :p |
Dave: Is that another one of your inventions? :D

I love this corner!
Here "LA FRANCESA" from the SA319B thread! http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PP...ulalouette.jpg Thanks Blender! I will load some more once I get them out to Blender! 3top  |
Blender,
are you saying that XC-SCT exists in duplicate? Falcon and Bell are registered SCT? That's interesting. I know how flexible the DGAC can be with the XC registration. I was offered once to ferry a confiscated Turbo Commander XC-A003 or so. 7 7 7 7 |
Good pic 3top.
And thanks for helping again Blender. http://www.bluetonguehelicopters.com...rune/actsm.gif |
I found these
These pictures were taken by a friend, he's into destroying Marihuana and Opium crops.
This is a very dangerous job for many reasons, but it is usually a very intersting and challenging, it is done by two agencies, one military and one civilian and most of the time they work as a team. This is one of their 212 flying alongside an IAI Arava (for air support) http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PP...212AravaLR.jpg The very tall plants all around the helicopter and crew are all fully grown Marihuana plants. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PPRuNe/212CannLR.jpg The little plants you see the 212 landed on, are all young marihuana plants. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PP...212FieldLR.jpg This is what they are supposed to do after cutting down the plants, burn them. http://homepage.mac.com/helipilot/PP...l212BurnLR.jpg |
Hi Blender Pilot:
What type of aeroplane is that ? What engines are on it? |
Helicopter Transport Services CH54B (Helitanker)
http://www.eacott.com.au/gallery/d/3444-1/S64+01a.jpg I thought you said the tracking was easy http://www.eacott.com.au/gallery/d/3...4+sunset+a.jpg A Corvallis Sunset |
IHL the info for the airplane is the following:
Designation: IAI 201 Arava Manufacturer: Israeli Acft. Ind., Israel Crew: 2 Seats: 25 troops Engine: 2 x Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A34 Engine Type: Turboprop Engine Thrust: 560 kW (750 shp) Propeller: 2 x 3 bladed constant speed Hartzell propellers From what I understand its a great airplane for short fields, with great payload. I once saw from above (live) how one of those, while landing on a narrow road, hit a small (but tall) dirt mound with the wing tip, it cart wheeled to a stop with 14 people on board, we landed inmediately to help out, and that little egg shaped fuselage kept everyone on board alive, its a tough airplane. This happened in Honduras. |
Couple of pics for you to enjoy from my travels.

AUTOROTATE:
Is that a roll of toiletpaper on top of the machine with that slight angle of bank?;) |
It took me a moment to realise that no, it's wasn't a piccie of some dork who'd left his helmet on the floor near the pedals !

Your photo of XT 132 was taken at Middle Wallop if my memory serves me right! I trained there in 1965, and returned as a QHI in the late 60s 'til the early 70s. I've checked my log book and XT 132 was one of the Sioux I didn't fly, so you can't add a Royal Marine to your list unfortunately. Below is a photo of XT 219, a Royal Marine B47 Sioux in less happy circumstances. Aden, Feb 1967, from Hover to Bother in one second. The only thing stopping us going over the edge was one of the blades stopping down slope, otherwise we'd still be bouncing! http://mysite.freeserve.com/exrotary...7-picture3.jpg |

11,500 feet. Waaaay to high. I've been up there once in a 206 and didn't like it.:ugh:
http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/3bd55...r_Dsc00068.jpg http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/3bd55...s/Dsc00069.jpg Believe it or not that isn't the Caribbean but the West of Ireland. Hmmm for some reason the pictures won't display. They are here anyway. 4th and 5th rows down.:ok: |
October 1996 - enroute from Banja Luka (Bosnia) to Split (Croatia).
Sorry for flying so high - but it was necessary so as not to get shot down! This by the way is a Royal Navy Sea King Mk 4....NOT an MH53 (as we were mis-identified by a flight of US Army Apaches) NOR a Serbian Mil-8 Hip (as we were mis-identified by a pair of USAF F-16's!) http://www.eacott.com.au/gallery/d/3...Bosnia+SK4.jpg |
Nice photo, jungly!
The color scheme there, is it designed to make the aircraft look less like a helicopter and more like a... ahem... a zebra? I can see how this would confuse any adversary. Great trick, I say! |
