Or....perhaps....say.....Columbia River Cherry Orchards....or the tri-border area of Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.....or even say the Aleutian Islands west of Cold Bay....or....maybe Burkina Faso.

Come on, chaps! The chap's asking a simple enough question. There must be hundreds, nay, thousands of terribly interesting photos of operations in all that horrible North Sea weather.

Is this the kind of thing you're after, NST?

That last one by HP, could fit nicely with the blade strike thread (206, 407, GoM) Call us (UK, Norwegians et al) old fashioned and boring, but them thar yellow circles weren't invented for no good reason!

he1iaviator 16th Aug 2007 11:41

You may be old fashioned and boring 212 but you do seem to have taken on board our North American cousins' preference for the double negative. :}

It does seem that some pilots in those photos are attempting to land in the middle of the aforementioned circle rather than using it as an eye (or even bum) line!

helimutt 16th Aug 2007 11:49

and I thought the circles were just a guide? :eek:

I always just aim for the circle, close my eyes at the last minute and hope I get somewhere near. Tend to leave a bit more space on the left side as the pax and HLO etc, tend to need more space to load/unload etc.

Presently in the middle of making an offshore video but editing taking some time. Will post once completed. Weather is too nice too now.

212man....

If they were not invented for no good reason....what bad reason were they invented?
