Nice picture, did you land on the rig at that time the picture was taken or not ? I wonder how many times do you have conditions like that on North Sea?
|
Not quite the North Sea......

Yeah! Do you guys land in conditions like that? Or do you hang around for an opening? Or do you bugger off home after a while and try later on in the day?
|
We couldn't land on a rig surrounded by fog. You might be able to see the deck but no surface?? You fall into the drink, who's gonna know where you are? Hopefully we wouldn't launch in the first place but it would be a turn around back for shore for us I guess.
Southern North Sea has been like that a lot earlier this year. |

How the Schiehallion brings back memories, tied up behind it for hours on end in bad weather. We nicknamed it the Tangerine Skip, for obvious reasons.

So what happened to the 61 PA on the cormorant ?

Anybody identify the location??
Definitely somewhere in the North Sea, circa 1983-84. Possibly on Treasure Finder alongside one of the Brent platforms??
Anybody have any ideas as to the true location? http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...s/NightRig.jpg |

Looking at Flyer43's post above, I would say the platform is almost certainly either the sadly doomed Piper Alpha, or its sister platform the Claymore Alpha - But I have been known to be wrong !

Speachless two
If you have anymore on BEAS please post them here: http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=287207 or http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthr...highlight=Beas It would be fascinating to see/read more about BEAS! |

Does the Norsk S92 have tinted passenger windows against the sun so the pax don't overheat? I was once told of this and thought it was quite clever but then people complained or somesuch and they took it off again.
