Its an Italian made helicopter, obviously not only rotor heads venture this fourm:confused:

outofwhack 6th Jun 2007 01:27

I have never heard of a helicopter manufacturer called Augusta either.
I wonder if he means Agusta. Its possible isnt it!

BlenderPilot 6th Jun 2007 01:27

At an altitude of 8000 FT AMSL the Power A109E burns about 200 KG/HR using Max Cont Pwr.

At sea level it burns more than that.

eagle 86 6th Jun 2007 01:59

A119 at around 5000 ft DA burns 180 kg/hr at MCP.

Between the late 70's and late 80's, the NSW Public Education System stopped kids from having to learn "spelling words" at home, ceased teaching English Grammar, syntax, semantics, language constructs, etc. Generally speaking, this is why a whole generation now in their 30's and 40's, having come through the public education system have trouble spelling or writing English properly. See how he spells "forum" as "fourm" and also "Agusta" as "Augusta". Classic examples of the NSW system trying to nurture creativity first, at the expense of spelling. Just my observation from hiring people from that generation in NSW. Thank goodness things have gone back to how they were before this botched experiment.

Amzanig huh? Yaeh, and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was
ipmorantt!

What's with all the smart arse replies? The guy asked for the fuel burn rates - it was clear what he was after. This is a forum for pilots, not fricken english teachers!

Jackonicko 6th Jun 2007 08:06

I believe that frickin' is a street contraction of the word 'freaking' - a politer emphasis than the other f-verb.

I suspect that fricken is a mis-spelling, and that wheatbix (who can't even spell his own user name properly) is showing himself to be another product of that era of NSW education.

Or edyookayshun, as he mite sa.

This is bloody great, carry on lads, who will hit who first, sorry, whom will hit whom first.

This is a forum for pilots,
Yes it is. However, being a pilot doesn't exclude you from taking the trouble to spell and write properly.

Jackonicko, you made me laugh at your comments on wheatbix. He is doing asbestos he can.......

rotors88 6th Jun 2007 10:45

Well excuse ****in' me, a gazillion apologies for my blatant error in spelling AGUSTA incorrectly, I was only after a simple fuel burn, not the childish pedantic ravings that have followed suit, & I thought this was a professional pilots forum. Many thanks for those kind enough to respond with the appropriate answers even with the misspelling. :\

Jackonicko 6th Jun 2007 10:49

Homework:

Look up 'banter'

Toughen up

Get a sense of humour

(and they talk about whingeing poms, yet it's always Aussies who bitch and whine....., giving the good uns a bad name)

Actually my friend I came through after that change in the schooling system when it was reverted to how it was before. And yes, I realise that in fact the cereal is spelt "Weet-bix", and when I chose a username all those years ago it wasn't supposed to be spelt like this.

Of course it doesn't exclude us, however, it shouldn't mean that each time I come on here I need my English dictionary and thesaurus to keep you lads happy. He made a spelling mistake. So what? At least you could help him with what he was after and politely remind him that he spelt the name wrong after making such a big deal about it.

I didn't come here to get in an arguement, but i seemed to have ended up in one anyway. Just help the guy with what he needs to know and we can all be on our way :)

Garfs 6th Jun 2007 15:10

Aye I think its called "Banter" :)

AndyJB32 6th Jun 2007 15:23

Punctuation

Actually Garfs, I think it's called "punctuation". You need a comma between "Aye" and "I", and "its" should have an apostrophe, as you are using the abbreviated form of "it is".................all the guy was after was a sensible answer to a reasonable question about fuel burn.:(

dunnarunna 6th Jun 2007 15:24

It's 'WeetAbix' over here in the motherland. I think the owner of the aforementioned cereal has something to do with Augusta's too.

Garfs 6th Jun 2007 16:39

Yes Andy and I think you need to look up the word banter, or sense of humour even

A109E Fuel Burn

hi rotors88,

the 109E with the PW 206C Engines burns about 230-240 kg/hour with ECS (AC, Environmental control system)) ON at an altitude between 500 and 3000 ft amsl and 80% Trq (Recommende Cruise). Without ECS its supposed to be 4% less.
If you calculate 240kg/hr you are safe.
Don't know about the A,C,S model and 119.

cheers
