Vpaw Contract

I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything interms of the workings of the contract!
And who's in the running for it?

Vpaw Contract

Does any one have any gos on that contract?

Is it also true that their illustrious Chief Pilot Is leaving?
For a position down in the South East of Victoria?:O

vpaw pilot 27th Jul 2005 10:56

 Hmm....

Shlaaper 28th Jul 2005 06:39

V poor

It would appear by looking at the Number of hits on this topic, that there is a number of interested parties, with regard to the 2 topics put to the forum by nite son!

I wonder, which topic is drawing the most attention!;)

Shlaaper 28th Jul 2005 22:46

Chief Wiggam

I believe that VPAW would sorely miss their main man if he decided to change camps! NOT!

I want to be there for that party!!:ok:

What do you think VPAW pilot?

Bell Ted 29th Jul 2005 00:43

VPAW

shlaaper, I'm not too sure if we are talking about the same person but let me tell you I'm fairly intimate with the workings of the police airwing and I can tell you that the "main man" you speak of is a well respected member of the VPAW community. I'm sure that other members of the airwing would agree that it would be a real loss if said person was to "change camps". If he did decide to move on his wealth of aviation technical knowledge and flying skills would be greatly appreciated at his new workplace...
:ok:

Bell Ted, dude, whatever you're on half the dose!:}

PO dust devil 29th Jul 2005 01:37

You might find out that the devil you know has a harder task than you give him credit for. It would be very arrogant of one to assume one could do as well in the same place.

The politics of that position would be something else. The operational and political accumen a guy in his post carries with him would be sorely missed and highly valued by others. Think about what you fly and how it's flown....did it just turn up out the front?

Bit of balance guys.

Nite son 29th Jul 2005 02:47

Brown Nosing!

Bell Ted - I need to get the number of your dealer, because what ever your on i need to get some!:}

When i posted this topic on the forum it was to find out what was happening with the Vpaw contract, it wasn't an open season ticket on butt licking!

PO dust devil "spud" - it would appear that you know a fair bit about his position. Perhaps you have considered yourself in it?;)

Shlaaper 29th Jul 2005 03:03

Don't worry be happy!

Now, now guys. The dust devil is right the chiefs position would be a difficult one and would require large shoulders to carry all the idiotic requests and whines from a bunch of over paid and under worked bus drivers!

But then again it would be easy if you did nothing and were the biggest whinger of all! After all its not as if he is accountable to anybody...;)

Nite son 29th Jul 2005 03:28

!

Bell Ted - The chief pilot " Pappa Smurf" that you say is well respected has about as much respect from his flock as Sydney lounge discounter (JE) has from the rest of the industry!:yuk:

Goodness Shlaaper, (if that's your real name)

I wouldn't call us overpaid......

:{

Shlaaper 29th Jul 2005 05:12

vpaw pilot, asked my mum and its not my real name! Phew!

Must say I hope your piloting skills are better than your computing ones! Only copy and paste the text you want!

As for overpaid. You may not have the highest numbers on your group cert but when you consider the amount of actual work you do your hourly rate is phenomenal!

I also noticed you didn't dispute anything else!:ok:

Nite son 29th Jul 2005 05:57

Pilots

I have heard that with the new contract, that the pilots are going to be out sourced!

Is this true?
Or is it a good tail? :E

vpaw pilot 29th Jul 2005 08:10

Hmmm

Shlaaper:

Hmmmmm.....

Nite Son:

Like sands through the hourglass,
So are the days of our lives.....

P.S. Have you got some kind of spelling unchecker running there Nite?

That sounds like the boys in black knocking down my door...

Unfortunately, I am not in a position to comment on the current contract situation. I am sure that those in the know, know....

But in answer to your other original question, Nite...

I don't think so...

Cheers, and Happy Landings...

P

Nite son 29th Jul 2005 12:52

vpaw pilot!

Thanks for picking up on my state of the art spelling unchecker it seems to be working a treat!

The boys in black! are you refering to the fed's or your fellow x-b.hawk drivers that you work with?

Do you think that anyone else from the wing is having thoughts of heading off to tap the TEXIS TEA?:)

Shlaaper 29th Jul 2005 23:57

Vpoor pilot!

Hmmmm!

Is that all you have to say in your defence!

So you dont deny them !

So can i take it then, that you have come to relise that you have a pretty good job?

And that the enviroment that you work in is pretty good minus a couple of individuals!

Considering the fact, that vpaw would have to be one of the best kitted out airwings in the country!

Would you not agree? :hmm:

NASUS 30th Jul 2005 07:42

Lets get back on track

This thread started with a question on the VPAW contract so lets get back on track...

The new contract has not yet been announced....waiting for MAS to sign-off until then you will need to wait and see. Like anything in Government decisions are not made quickly and the descision on this one is 7 months late already.

Speculation is that the status quo will exist...don't expect anything grand.

Pilots are safe for the new contract period.

Yes there are difficulties....what organisation, with 14 pilots, 22 observers and admin staff, doesn't have problems when they are all squeezed in one hangar. Personalities are diverse and conflicts do exist and yes some key members are difficult to work with at times.

Are the VPAW pilots overpaid? A typical offshore pilot in Australia flies a medium IFR twin 2 pilots to and from an offshore platform under very controlled environment day in day out and mainly during daylight hours and would on average be renumerated around $120,000. An emergency service pilot at VPAW flies a medium IFR twin 24/7. At times into difficult night outlandings to unprepared areas. In an environment that is not mapped out but mostly unknown and at times unpredictable for a return of $80,000. Overpaid...I think not.

Yarper 30th Jul 2005 11:33

Yeah!

Good one Troll!!!

Nite son 31st Jul 2005 01:40

Info

NASUS - Thanks for that!
That makes things a little clearer!

Do we know what the AMBO's are waiting to sing off on?:)
