Just the crew to choose now!

wishtobflying 28th Feb 2005 21:39

I'm not sure which is funnier about that - the legs, or that a bunch of nuns are having drinks at a bar.

My vote for the best looking helicopter of all time has to go to the S-92.

Haggis Hunter 28th Feb 2005 21:50

For pure good looks and clean lines, it's hard to do better than the Rotorway Exec.

Good looking?

As every plank-driver knows, the reason helicopters fly, is that they're so ugly the earth repells them... With this in mind, I find it hard to have a competition on good looks :O

IMHO I have always found that the beauty and looks of machines can be so much more than flowing lines and nice angles. If a helicopter is built for a specific task (K-max for example) and performs it very well, there is a beauty in performing the task that has nothing to do with good looks. Or a SAR S61 standing on the apron: Just knowing its purpose and and the skill involved makes it look outstanding, in my eyes.
Anyway, with that said, I put my vote on the 430 with wheels, but that will probably change tomorrow.

BTW, what do FW-pilots know about looks?

It\'s obviously a new day already...

Because my vote actually goes to the EC130.

I'm with TheFlyingSquirrel - it's got to be the EC120: sex on skids! :ok:

Capn Notarious 1st Mar 2005 08:03

The MD900 Explorer has to be in the listings, on account of its use of Coanda and the abscence of tail rotor / drive train.

Floppy Link 1st Mar 2005 08:48

What?
No Wessex?

Beautiful
(in the eye of the beholder, of course)

Rotorbee 1st Mar 2005 09:13

1. MD 902
2. MD 520N
3. BK 117

And how about the really ugly ones?

Aesir 1st Mar 2005 16:28

Wow I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder! we sure have a lot of different opinions.

But if we had a world beauty contest then I think the B430/230/222 series would be a strong contender.

How could you possibly think that Bell hodge-podge could be it? With those silly "stub wings" to hold the gear, and end plates on the horiz stab. :yuk:

C'mon, you all are just purposely ignoring the obvious truth...

Long nose S-76, gear-up, low level 155kts flyby.

:ok:

What planet are you lot on? B206, low skids. Sex with a windmill on top.

Steve76 1st Mar 2005 20:59

You lads are on drugs...
H500D or E, tapped out, low and hard coming up the valley.
There is no better.
